If this video is genuine, it raises serious questions: > How did a person in custody access a phone? > Why was filming allowed inside a police vehicle? > Were custodial protocols being followed? > What message does this send to victims and the public? ICE agents in Yonkers, NY went to arrest one illegal immigrant with a criminal warrant and, in the process, detained two additional illegals as collateral arrests. Since sanctuary states refuse to cooperate with federal authorities and release foreign criminals from jail directly back onto the streets instead of into ICE custody, federal agents are now forced to go into neighborhoods to locate and arrest them. As a result, ICE ends up making collateral arrests. This situation didn’t have to happen. It could have been avoided if Democrats ensured that local law enforcement worked with ICE.

The reason you see ICE flooding into Minnesota, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles—these big cities—is because they refuse to turn over illegal immigrants arrested by local police when there are outstanding ICE warrants. If they simply said, "Look, ICE, we don't want our police actively engaged in enforcement, but you can come into our jails, evaluate arrests, and remove those criminals committing crimes against U.S. citizens and each other," instead of fighting and violating federal law, this wouldn't be happening. The blue states and cities have no one to blame but themselves for why ICE is flooding the zone. Now, on Tuesday's committee briefing, a bombshell revelation: 60,000 of these "lawfully present noncitizens" are already on Maryland's Medicaid rolls. Think about that. These are individuals who have been in our country for less than five years. Annapolis Democrats have long championed a Medicaid-for-All approach, but now that the federal government is tightening its belt, who do you think will be left holding the bag? Covering these "lawfully present noncitizens" is projected to cost you, the taxpayer, an estimated $600 million. And what about those who won't comply with reapplying or the work requirements? That will total $1.7 billion. With the General Assembly session just over a month away and our state already staring down a $1.4 billion deficit, how can anyone justify adding this liability?
