Meredith is actually a joke. She really thinks Aidan has to tell people not to trust or like her? this is entirely your own doing. You turned everyone off with your own vindictive behavior. You’ve shown everyone that you can’t be trusted with anything confidential because your first instinct is always blackmail. She is struggling for a way to respond. The slightest ask for explanation of their bumper-sticker slogans bewilders these people. She comes up with "I'm more concerned about billionaires." So she doesn't directly answer the question. Remnick follows up: "I guess what I'm asking is how much is too much?" She can't answer that either. So she says "it's more about what are you doing to keep and maintain and get that wealth in the first place." That sounds a lot like 'We will decide if your wealth is virtuous or not.'
