It’s really early in the season when she was fighting threw injuries, wasn’t fully healthy. Now that she’s healthier and more confident in her movements. Her lateral movements are better. Fully healthy CC is scary!!

Kyle, in the video you show the limited good defensive play. I've watched a dozen of her games. She is by far the best dribbler, passer, and play maker in the league; an outstanding shooter also. Her defense sucks; below par. She stands around allot out of position. When covering someone, her foot work is slow; unable to maintain good defensive position. Requires little effort by opponent to leave her out of position. She is a great offensive weapon that possesses marginal defensive skills.

Caitlin Clark is so good at defense that all she had to do was play defense during the final possession of the game against New York on Pauline Astier, and her terrible defense cost them the game after her previous, horrendous isolation play.🚫🤷🏾‍♂️👎🏿

When she’s locked in (as the video shows), she can actually play elite levels of defense.

Genuinely from watching her, I think her issues with defense is that, she has to literally carry so much load on offense that most times she doesn’t have the legs to play defense consistently, so she gives effort when needed but mostly plays passing lanes as a substitute

She didn’t get called for any fouls last game. I feel like one of the things she’s drastically and quickly improved on is she doesn’t reach or grab when she gets beat as much as she had been.

Being a great defender, you have to exert a lot of energy. She can't do that cuz she has to run the offense by herself. Nobody else can create or do anything with the ball except her. She can play D, but she just can't commit the effort consistently on that end. She ain't bionic

few players in the WNBA have enough body control to stay with the ball handler and move feet and not bump off them and body-up. She not only has good defense, she makes all the rough slamming in the WNBA look as clumsy as it actually is.
