Everyone is comparing the goal strike and how similar it was to Del Piero's goal vs Germany in 2006 World Cup but no one is noticing how similar Calafiori's incredible last gasp pass was to Mario Balotelli's amazing diving pass to Sergio Aguerro for Roberto Mancini's ManCity in 2012 that won the EPL. Del Piero was closer to the keeper and his finish was easier as well. It’s just the bend to the far corner that is similar. Calafiori did by himself what Cannavaro, Totti and Gilardino did together. Yes, the slide is similar to Balotelli’s.

@KN1897 There's the difference to Gatti right there. He would often make similar runs, but then just bulldoze into a defender and lose possession, ever time.

I really liked his performance. One slight concern I had for him was he was sometimes a bit over confident in his own defensive third with his passing. Couple of times he caused easy turnovers that could have resulted in big chances for Croatia. Will only get better though!
