Take a system that you’re in favor of.” Guest: “I just don’t want it to be capitalism.” Caleb Hammer: “Take a system that has been proven to work anywhere.” Guest: “I’m choosing socialism.” Caleb Hammer: “No… pick another country where it’s worked.” Guest: “New York.” Caleb Hammer: “That’s not socialist. That’s the most capitalist place in the world.” Guest: “They have more social programs.” Caleb Hammer: “All funded by the success of capitalism.”

Caleb Hammer told a guest, “makeup doesn’t make you skinnier,” and she got so emotional that she stormed out. Caleb Hammer: Well, you said natural beauty. Guest (Female): Natural beauty. Like, like that don't wear, don't wear makeup. And like, I wear makeup because I have like... so, when I was younger, I was super skinny, and then like, I gained a lot of weight. So, like, I wear makeup. Caleb Hammer: Makeup doesn't cover that. Gym changes that. Guest (Female): We're going to fight, but that's fine. Whatever. Caleb Hammer: What? No, makeup doesn't make you skinnier. Guest (Female): I didn't say it made me skinnier.

Caleb Hammer says Dave Ramsey’s $1,000 emergency fund rule is outdated. Codie Sanchez: What do you disagree with Dave Ramsey on? Caleb Hammer: Overall, I think Dave Ramsey has helped millions of Americans. His positive impact has been far greater than the negative. Caleb Hammer: But sticking to a $1,000 emergency fund today is kind of crazy. Caleb Hammer: If you just adjusted it for inflation, it’d be around $3,000 now. Caleb Hammer: I’ve had people follow the $1,000 rule, then an emergency happened… Caleb Hammer: It wasn’t enough, so they went right back into debt and made the debt snowball even worse. Caleb Hammer: That’s why I recommend saving at least one month’s expenses before aggressively paying off debt. Caleb Hammer: Or at the very least, have enough to cover your highest insurance deductible. Caleb Hammer: That’s how you stop one emergency from turning into a financial disaster.

Caleb Hammer goes off on a guest who refuses to sell his $40,000 gun collection to instantly clear his family’s $34,000 debt. Caleb Hammer: "What are your guns worth?" Guest: "$40,000 at least." Caleb Hammer: "Your debt is less than $40,000. Sell them, you're out of debt." Guest: "No." Caleb Hammer: "How do you care about your own sh*t more than your family? You are such a bad person!" Guest: "The fact of the matter is, I'm not selling 'em, 'cause I will never get 'em back." Caleb Hammer: "It doesn't matter! You'll never get your kids back either!... They matter more than your guns!" Guest: "The kids matter more than my guns, but... it'll be hard to sell 'em." Caleb Hammer: "You're literally choosing guns over her!"

Caleb Hammer has officially seen it all. This guest took out a $60,000 loan and blew it all on blackjack and stock trading. Even agrees that it is addictive. Caleb Hammer: "You borrowed against your savings?" Guest: "No, I lost it all. Gambling." Caleb Hammer: "Oh for f***'s sake." Guest: "Stock markets, trading. Remember when GameStop happens and people got crazy?" Caleb Hammer: "How much over how long?" Guest: "I probably lost $60,000 in gambling total." Caleb Hammer: "Oh! Sixty?! Sixty over how long?!" Guest: "I quit two years ago, I think, so." Caleb Hammer: "So in two years you lost $60,000?!" Guest: "It's addicting. You ever play blackjack on your phone? Caleb Hammer: "No! Guest: "Do it during weddings. Yeah." Caleb Hammer: "You're doing it during weddings? Why specifically?! Guest: "That's just what I remember, sir." Caleb Hammer: "The only one you remember is you're at a wedding and you lost $60,000 and you took out personal loans for it?!"

Caleb Hammer schooled a socialist guest who works a corporate job about socialism. Guest: I work in finance. Caleb Hammer: Doing what? Guest: I do corporate finance for stadiums and arenas. Caleb Hammer: Like Ticketmaster? Guest: Not Ticketmaster. But we do work with Ticketmaster. Caleb Hammer: Yeah, okay. So you're one of the actual evil capitalists. Guest: By day a villain, by night a hero. Caleb Hammer: Trying to prevent modern infrastructure, that's weird. That's being a hero? That's weird. Guest: No, going to concentration camps. Yeah, I actually just got back from New Jersey... Caleb Hammer: You went to Auschwitz? Guest: I just got back from Delaney Hall. Caleb Hammer: Where's that? Guest: That's in New Jersey. Caleb Hammer: It's just... we're talking about concentration camps. You're a socialist? Guest: Yes. Caleb Hammer: Okay, you know socialism has never worked. What socialism are you in favor for? Here we go, get ready.
