This young lady was surprised by her parents on her Sweet 16th birthday with her dream car- a Porsche. Some people are congratulating her on receiving such an expensive car. The majority of people are criticizing the parents for buying her such a car to be her first automobile. They are saying that kids that age are still learning how to drive and they don’t need their dream car at 16. I wouldn’t buy my kids that for their first car. I would want them to have something to work for. But that’s me. If you are or were financially able to do so, would you buy your 16 year old a high priced vehicle like that? Or, do you think that is over the top?

So you are going to try to save a little money and do some work on your car yourself, easy right? You almost got the over off in the engine bay and you notice a bolt you can’t seem to find a socket for. You call the dealer and they tell you what sizes you need. So you call around and find a tool shop that carries it, you now find out why the service at the dealer was so pricey. The socket set you need to do the job is $49,000 dollars. The tool you need to fix your car literally costs more than the car. Is it safe to say you are going to take it to be done at the dealer?

Back into something and replace the rear light yourself — even from a junkyard — and the car knows it’s not the original part. It can even tell it came from another car via VIN and will disable the vehicle. You’re forced to tow it to the dealer, pay for diagnostics, and pay them to “encode” it so your own car will accept the part you bought and installed. Trump literally said it in a presser: the auto manufacturers don’t want you fixing your own car anymore — something we’ve done our whole lives. Right to repair is dead. They want you dependent.
