Subway system is totally impractial in Austin. If they really feel the need to do something, then raise it up. Modern trends are towards elevated systems (which can be driverless) that can be built more quickly and better integrate into the cityscape

Not going to happen. The geological situation makes it difficult to cost effectively dig long tunnels. Dallas threw several lines of light rail in a short span of time. The problem with ATX is that they have no one with the ability and mandate to make this happen!
