I want to talk today about how important the Voter ID ballot initiative is. A photo identification is required in Massachusetts to fly, buy a cell phone, open a bank account, pick up a prescription, and get a library card. A photo ID is even required to attend the Massachusetts Democrat State Convention. It is a reasonable request and I support Voter ID in Massachusetts. Voter ID is common sense and supported by around 80% of Americans. Voting against this today would be a vote against the common sense of the America people. The SAVE America Act is coming to the House floor today. I will be voting for it. This bill does one simple thing: Require proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections.
