If you've never driven from Oakland to Santa Barbara, you are missing out on one of the world's greatest trips in terms of landscape vistas.

Drive this road and saw this nice vista MANY times! This is heading southbound on N. Torrey Pines Road (historically part of old U.S. Route 101), as you leave Camino Del Mar in Del Mar where it transitions into NTP Road winding down past Torrey Pines State Beach down there and the bluffs before entering La Jolla.

This stretch is one of the reasons San Diego real estate makes more sense once you experience the lifestyle. I run the trails above this coastline through Torrey Pines and toward the Gliderport, and views like this are part of the amenity package you’re really buying into. Location isn’t just commute time or a ZIP code. Sometimes the premium is waking up near something people travel across the country to see.

Growing up in San Diego definitely made me realize I took a lot of natural beauty for granted

If you have money, coastal north county is the best place to live in SoCal
