I have been saying for years that Russia are not our enemy. In my opinion, Russia has been used as a pawn by the west, to keep fear among us by all the bad news about them. But when was the last time Russia actually entered our territory without permission... Never!

I don't like Putin for many reasons, but I dislike the EU even more.

He's partly right, but it becomes an oversimplification pretty quickly because he has to try to wrap everything up in the silly thesis blaming Europe for his failed war. The EU repeatedly condemned Chechen terrorism and affirmed Russian territorial integrity. After 9/11 we even cooperated with Russia to stop all terrorism. But yes the arrogance of the West post-cold war is obvious.

I think he's right too. I don't trust the guy, he's a tyrant, but so are our leaders too. I really don't know why people are fooled by our leaders and what they say about him. I don't trust any of them, I don't trust Trump either.

Rightly or wrongly, Putin has deep insight and knowledge of his cause and can always answer questions in depth, and backs this up with (his) reasoning. He has intellect, which most western leaders are severely lacking in, or in the case of Trump, something he never has possessed.

Whatever you think of him personally he's far brighter than 90% of our current politicians.

Nah. Whilst I agree we shouldn't have been expanding the alliance to Ukraine, he's the one that escalated it into a more overt and physical war. The invasion was not and cannot be justified.
