As God will have it, I met this amazing 2 young men selling Akara, Yam , pepper Kpomo and some chicken wings at Obalende this morning making their cool cash with passers by patronizing them. I asked them how many hours it takes for people to buy what they sell He said once they get to Obalende by 9am latest by 2pm they have sold out! While they have some other boys helping by the side to wash beans and cut yam.. If this set of boys see small grant between N50k - N100k you think they won’t be happy? .. don’t worry ehhh, keep sitting behind your phone and keep complaining while others are creating wealth.. Here’s my take: we may never know what exactly transpired with the Vegas truck or what motivated it. Do the details matter to how we should prepare? Not really. There is a real threat, and there’s so much we don’t know. Here’s some basic things to focus on: Learn how to apply a tourniquet and carry them. If you have kids make sure you have tourniquets that fit your kids. Be vigilant. Say something if you see something, don’t be afraid to report it if something seems off. You could save lives. Public panic causes real damage and puts lives at risk, so also focus on yourself and your emotional state. Don’t contribute to panic - stay calm, make reasonable efforts to prepare, and be aware of your environment to remain safe. This isn’t an overnight fix - we have a long road ahead of us to truly make America safe again. God bless. 🇺🇸

KEEP OFF SEASON DEVELOPMENT SIMPLE Heading in to the off season soon, we’ll see a lot of players try to get better at everything and make their development more complex than it had to be. So much of development can be solved by focusing on shooting and playing. Within the playing focusing on ball handling (getting 2 feet in the paint), finishing, decisions and reads, guarding on ball and off ball. If you play with purpose and get your shooting reps up before or after you’ll put yourself in a great spot during the off season.

Should we really be celebrating these food companies for doing the absolute bare minimum by not poisoning us? Listen, I want to celebrate the wins but doing a full press conference for ice cream was a little much. It’s still unhealthy for you. If you want real ice cream, make it at home. On the flip side, not everyone can grow their own food at home and get clean water. Let’s get the contaminates out of things that do not have alternatives and I’ll celebrate with you.

Conquest's Third Law says that you should model any bureaucratic organisation as if it was controlled by a cabal of its enemies. It's a fun exaggeration, but it gets at an important phenomenon. Organisations have continuous generational turnover. The founding members eventually leave and have to be replaced, probably by people only imperfectly aligned with their vision. With each new hire, the values of the people in the organisation will tend to drift further and further. In the limit they're almost completely unaligned with the founding purpose of the org.

Stop outsourcing the most important thing you will ever be responsible for to an industry that profits from your illness. I've had surgery. I'm grateful it exists. But if you are sitting there right now taking drugs just to stay alive, ask yourself why no one is helping you get off of them. All I have ever asked for is choice. The right to be informed. The right to decide what goes into my body and my children's bodies. That's it. That's the whole fight. And if your doctor cannot look you in the eye and have that conversation honestly... you are in the wrong place. Your health belongs to you. It always has.

At the time of this speech, the main takeaway from Dan Campbell was “I don’t care if you have one ass cheek and three toes, I will beat your ass.” Looking back, there’s a much deeper meaning here. The coaches, the front office and the players all knew what he meant and they all bought in. The culture of this Lions team was built off speeches just like this. Possibly built off this exact one. “We’ll go a little longer. We’ll push a little harder. We’ll think a little deeper and little sharper.” “Normally I’m 100% but I only need 85% to beat you.” (Think of Ragnow on that Vea block) “…just gotta get a hold of them though. If you just get a hold of them and start dragging their ass out to the deep dark abyss…you can drown ‘em. And that’s what we have to be. That’s who we have to be. Because that’s our domain. Because we will tread water as long as it takes to fucking bury you. We’ll go as long as it takes because we can and we choose to.” Everything Campbell said in this speech is the team the Lions have become. #AllGrit

Here’s Saban on the Illusion of Choice: “These guys, they all think they have this illusion of choice. Like I can do whatever I want to do. “You have a younger generation now that doesn’t always get told no. They don’t get told this is exactly how you need to do it. So they have this illusion that they have all these choices. “But the fact of the matter is, if you want to be good you don’t really have a lot of choices. It takes what it takes. You have to do what you have to do to be successful. “You have to make the choices and decisions to have the discipline and the focus to the process of what you need to do to accomplish your goals. “All these guys that think they have a lot of choices are sadly mistaken. As we all have done with our own children, they learn these lessons of life as they get older. “Sometimes the best way to learn is from the mistakes you make, even though we all hate to see them have to make them, and we don’t condone it when they do.” – I’ve studied Saban for 12+ years, and the Illusion of Choice is one of the most powerful concepts I’ve come across.
