You could use an xbox stick on the left/right side, but not an OEM gamecube c stick

I dont understand can someone explain why I might want this over the original gc controllers? I hear phob this goomwave that but idk what the benefit is. Would I get better at rivals 2 if I use that? I feel like my inputs are more or less fine all the time. Lmk plz haha
