Democrats block bill to fund Military pay. The senate tried to pass a $852 Billion dollar defense spending bill. This money would have kept the Pentagon running, support National Security programs and guarantee pay for our Service Members. Our Military should never go without pay as their sacrifices are made every day. The members of Congress should not receive any pay when the Government is shutdown.

We do. If you accept that premise, then we have to do something on the stock trading front. Um, members do not need to trade in individual stocks. We do need to close loopholes for family members because the conflict does extend to them, and moreover, this is supposed to be a temporary public service, this job, a temporary public service. Instead of fixing the institutional rot that is pushing young Americans away from military service, our leaders want to replace them with hired foreign guns.
