Calling self-custody "crypto-anarchism" oversimplifies what #Bitcoin accomplishes. It's about freedom—freedom of speech, property rights, and protecting your right to own what's yours. We must not dismiss it because freedom isn't promised—it must be fought for and protected.

As I said at the end of the clip, I love @saylor. He's a friend. This is the only free market in the world being free. In any free market, especially something as revolutionary as Bitcoin, people are going to have different views. That's not just normal, it's necessary. It's all love from me. My goal is simply to defend the principles that I believe make #Bitcoin powerful: freedom and the ability for anyone to engage with it however they see fit.

Clip is from our new Mailbag Monday episode @moneymatterzpod:

Everyone offended by @saylor is taking his words too literally. He’s always been a bridge between the institutional world and the Bitcoin community, and doing an excellent job. His goal is to generate interest, not scare off institutions. That’s even why he once defended USD to avoid making enemies. He’s always going for a win-win.

Self-custody is at the heart of Bitcoin. We enable builders to build on Bitcoin and own both their keys and crypto. Come build on Bitfinity.

i’m gonna leave this here. Because He Is Real #SmurfCat 🍄

Very well said, Jack!

What matters is the option—the option to choose how you want your #bitcoin to be held. As you @jackmallers often reference, it is freedom, the free markets, that matters. I believe that bitcoiners need to be in peace accepting that not every person will self-custody, others can't self-custody, and others won't care not in a million years.

Quiet now, you're one of his enablers.

How many transactions per second can btc's version of Bitcoin do? 🤔 How much would the network fees be if I wanted to buy a sandwich? 🤔 How long would the transaction take to process? 🤔 How much energy used per transaction? 🤔 🤔 💭 🤔 💭 🤔 💭 🤔 💭 🤔 💭 Right!👌

Respect him but @saylor contradicts himself several times in the interview. When he promotes the fact that bitcoin reduces counterparty risk and being able to teleport it, he is making the anarchists’ point. He downplays US gov seizure risk and historical events, but at the end of the interview he brings up risk of governments seizing assets and says it’s happened in history.
