It would be so much better if we could buy the Windows version through Steam or directly from Callipeg. I've been trying to purchase it from the Microsoft Store, but it still won't accept any of my Visa cards. It's really frustrating. 🥲🥲

Hello, what country are you located in? We do our best to distribute in as many countries as possible, and Microsoft Store is the most practical for us at the moment as a small company.

I was traveling for now, so I'll try purchasing it again when I get back home. I think the issue might be that my Microsoft account region and my Visa card region don't match, or something like that. By the way, congratulations on the launch! I can't wait to try it out!

Steam would be for Linux usage only, it will be easier to manage for us as a small company. We investigate different options!

Is there a reason why the download is only available through Apple and Microsoft stores?

As a small company it’s difficult for us to manage user accounts, secure transactions and make everything from scratch on a website store. So we prefer to distribute via stores that can handle all these parts.

Was talking to my mom about this and how expensive all the animation apps I used in college was and when i told her the price of this and that it was a one time purchase she said she’d buy it for my birthday next week! Always loved Callipeg and excited to use it on desktop!! 🧡

Does this have anything similar to symbols in Animate/Flash, or nested timelines/precomps?

Hello, there is no nested timelines (but you can group layers) or symbols at the moment. Are the symbols a kind of library of re-usable assets?

Essentially, yes. They act as precomposed timelines which can contain their own layers and when placed on an outside timeline be set to play once, loop or display a single frame. This is used for complex rigs, mouth charts, camera moves, etc. Extremely versatile.

Thank you! We will study this possibility of a library. But I guess it’s more suited for rig/puppet work and vector based software.

Great on iPad already, now also on desktop! I would have loved a Mac Intel build, ha. But I fully understand why not, Intel is done for, Silicon is the future! Anyway, wishing you lots of luck with the launch on desktop.

@behtartz Why do they have to help with administrative work? This is a super ignorant consumer-pov question; but can't just do whatever that means by yourself?

@behtartz If the stores don’t redistribute VTA to the country in question we need, regarding law, someone in said country to manage that. It would be too much resources for us at the moment. We want to distribute in every country but that’s an obstacle.

@behtartz What's VTA exactly? Couldn't find a meaning on Google. Also, it is available on Apple in my region but not on Google Play Store

@behtartz That's a tax on each product you sell (even digital ones). I am not an accountant but basically you have to "redistribute it" to the state you sold your product in. Apple is managing this in some countries and Microsoft in others, that's their choices and terms.

Can you also download from you website too?! Or just Microsoft accounts?! ^^

Since Microsoft is not managing VTA for us there we unfortunately can't distribute Callipeg on Microsoft Store in Mexico (it would require too much management for us as a small company). If rules changes we will distribute it!

Thank you! We will go only to stores, even though we consider alternative stores. We don't have the structure to manage a whole store by ourselves while securing payments, user accounts, licenses activation and everything else a store can do for us.

Then if you will consider selling it on Steam, will it be available only for Linux users or also Windows users?

We are looking into these possibilities! Steam is still in process at the moment, it will take time to make everything going and testing it.

Ah there is also not sure if you've heard of it. I'm concerned about Steam and Microsoft Store potentially turning off my ability to launch the software without an internet connection.
