This batter hits a hard shallow liner into right field. The right fielder is charging and fires to first. The ball is overthrown and the runner looks but decides to stay at first. The catcher backed up the overthrown ball and throws to first and he rages the runner. The umpire calls him out and says he made an attempt to go to second base. I think he looked but I don’t see an attempt. He stayed in fouls territory the whole time. Just because his head looked doesn’t mean he made an attempt. 50/50 people saying he’s out for an attempt and others say no attempt, he should be safe. What’s your call? Safe or out? An attempt to second or no attempt?

As soon as Pickett realised Waterman was going to take possession of the ball he decelerates, lowers his body and drops his right arm in an attempt to minimise impact before making inevitable contact to Waterman. Police have released an image of a man they’re searching for following the incident at a park in Kooyong yesterday “Bayside Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) are appealing for witnesses following an attempted sexual assault in Kooyong on 14 July. Investigators have been told the two, a 67-year-old Toorak woman and a 39-year-old Glen Iris woman, were walking along Gardiners Creek with dogs near a reserve off Glenferrie Road around 11.30am. An unknown male jumped out of a bush and put his arms around one of the women, but she managed to push him away. He then tried to pull the other woman toward him, and she also managed to push him away. The victims were walking eight dogs at the time; the dogs then chased the male into a nearby tunnel under the Monash Freeway even managing to tear off a piece of his clothing. The man is perceived to be of African appearance wearing black tracksuit pants, white socks, slides, black and grey hooded top and was wearing a black face covering. He was also carrying a large bright blue backpack. Detectives have released a facial composite of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.”

My dad retired at 59 I will not He had a pension. I have a 401k I can barely fund. He bought his house at 28. I can't touch a down payment at 30. He paid $90 a month for health insurance. I pay $430. At dinner he told me I need to be smarter with money. I nodded. Didn't tell him his entire life was built on an economy that no longer exists. Didn't tell him my generation is paying for his Social Security while ours gets gutted. Didn't tell him the ladder he climbed got pulled up right after him. Just passed the potatoes. Make it make sense

To FSD or not FSD? We bought our son a Model 3. He’s a new driver and the car has FSD. As his parents, we want him to actually learn how to drive, to know how to handle the car himself in case he’s ever in a situation where he needs to drive. Anyone who knows me knows I’m obsessed with FSD. I preach it constantly. It’s safer. It makes driving so much less stressful. I’m literally at 100% FSD and it’s something I’m extremely proud of. Yesterday I was riding with him while he drove and a car pulled straight out in front of us. I was terrified! I was pissed! I wanted to beat that person up! All those mama feelings hit at once. If he had looked over for a second, blinked, sneezed, anything, he could have hit them. So now I’m torn. Do I keep making him drive manually so he builds real experience, or allow him push the blue button? What are your thoughts?
