The shitty part is, he'll win in court, but those cops won't receive even the slightest of punishments or even corrective training on what justifies ID'ing someone. They'll go on about their duty of extortion and rights violations like nothing happened.

It’s 2026 how has every police department in the country not been trained on this? I’ve probably seen 1000+ videos just like this. They end up suing and the cops use tax payer funds to pay a settlement. This is dumb.

We constantly allow out rulers to violate our God given rights, as well as our constitutional rights. We must sue them every chance we get until these officers learn the constitution and respect the citizens. It's them vs us and us is WE THE PEOPLE.

Also stop arguing with the cops. Tell them you refused to ID without the treat of being arrested and end the conversation.

I’m always fascinated that police don’t understand the law. Then I read the comments on this video and it’s clear most people don’t understand either. There isn’t a single State in the US that can require you to identify without probable cause or reasonable suspicion. They can’t override the 4th Amendment. An officer’s “investigation” or general “suspicion” are not enough.

He ID’s himself when he confirms it’s his property…and they know it! They know his picture and his ID is in their system with his address. Well handled.

You fired a gun for no apparent reason. You admit that you fired the gun. But I didn’t do anything is not a go home free card. Most places it’s unlawful to discharge a firearm unless it’s self defense. You should always have your id on you. He wanted to get arrested so he could file suit against them.

Nieves V. Bartlett Quartz ruled that evidence of their arrest being retaliatory is justifiable if no prior probable cause exist existed. Given the neighbor admitted on body cam footage that he’s had issues with this man for years, wasn’t sure if he actually fired around in the air, but has legally observed him over multiple years practicing proper Firearm laws by shooting at their specific target, there’s more probable cause to assume the neighbor was lying and a criminal complaint that the neighbor having fired around into the air It also doesn’t help that the officer spent maybe eight seconds looking for the round in the area where he had claimed to discharge the Firearm. It also doesn’t help that he was behaving perfectly while arguing he had no legal requirement to provide identification. While the police were justified in detaining the individual while the investigation was going on, elevating this to an arrest for disorderly conduct displayed failing to gain any evidence indicating his alleged actions, this is a slam Dan case for any civil rights attorney and a quick few hundred thousand dollars in his bank account when all is said and done

The problem is they still get what they want when he gets to the jail, unless they list him as a John Doe. They will fingerprint and take pictures so he is placed in the system. They will also probably start harassing him on the road. Hopefully he has a good lawyer. Some cops overstep way too much.

This is the statement by the gentleman in the video. This happened in Macon County, Tennessee. Here is what he wrote: "There are two BWC ( Body Worn Camers ) videos to this incident by the Macon County sheriffs dept in Macon county Tennessee. These are being shared for the purposes of making the public aware. This I believe is an unlawful retaliation arrest for a refusal to ID on my property and contempt of cop charge. The case has already been dismissed. Only thing stopping us from holding these people accountable for committing these crimes against us is financial at this point to the best of my understanding. And I say us because even though they were committed against me, my family is the ones suffering protecting me. I stood for our rights, I took the ride. I did my part. But if I had to do it again I would not. Because I ultimately was not the one punished. My Wife was. And NEVER tell the oath breaking cops you will sue them even if you fully intended too. The trumped-up charges nearly cost an 18year career and a 5-year mortgage. This arrest set a 25000 dollar bail and a 2500 dollar bond. If you are not willing to eat that be weary of using your first amendment right. There are two sergeants in this video. One is officer Myrs, the female and the other is Emberton, the red headed male. In this video you will hear him claim that he is the last person to take a law-abiding citizens firearm from them. It took me two and a half months to get my Glock 19 back. remember also I was on my own property. liar. He will take my gun but will not take possession of the van keys to help my wife and family leaving four people who had nothing to do with this situation punished as well. This to me is a clear example of them KNOWING full well Id beat the charge but they planned on the ride being the punishment. What they did not bank on was we were not as poor as they thought we were and now their tactics of picking on the poor in this county are being exposed. They fully intended on me being jailed till that court date innocent or not. When I was willing to take the ride I was thinking 250, maybe 500. But to find out 4 hours later they charged 2500?... In case that does not equate with you that is two full mortgage payments, right then right now. Ya, now I'll tell anybody who will listen. Another note, the sheriff in uthe plainclothes blue shirt is also my 8th county Commissioner Kyle Petty. also a deputy sheriff. They seem mighty friendly. My lawyer that worked getting these charges dismissed in GS court also said "EVERYBODY IN THE BACK" knows Kelley personally. I wonder how many are going to rush to him help next time he cries wolf and gets all their tails stuck in a crack like this one." ------ I will put a link in the comment under this one to the full video. I will also share with you what AI stated he might be able to get for this unlawful arrest.

Idk what state this is in but in my state he does not to in this situation. Police can lie to him and convince him and threaten him but its not enforceable. He will probably get a nice fat pay check out of these cops. cops are used to dealing with people that have committed crimes. There not used to dealing with people that have not committed a crime and know the law.
