Cam Reddish: 2 Things Can Be True 1. He shouldn’t be a regular rotation player in your Top 9 + he’s LA’s most expendable, Salary Dump player. But- 2. LA doesn’t make the POs w/o Cam last year. From 11/10 - 12/9, Lakers went 10-1 in games Cam started,... show more

People like to blame Ham’s over-reliance on Reddish for stunting Max Christie’s growth or for AR’s unnecessary benching (but also - LA went 6-1 after Cam became the starting SG?) I agree with this to an extent - but only AFTER December, when Cam was clearly banged up & not healthy; when Ham was still not playing Christie. But during the month of November, when Vando was hurt & AR was struggling? LA VERY MUCH NEEDED Cam Reddish’s play. He avgd 2 stls in November and helped the team go 12-1 in the next 13 games he played in after he was inserted into the starting spot. Does that mean LA should *keep* Cam? Not at all. He should be salary dumped at the first sign of any decent upgrade. My point though is - his contributions last year shouldn’t be diminished. And I DO THINK he can be deployed for 10-15min a night as an end of bench POA defender 8’ the right context & team.

Most people live in recency bias, so they won't look at the points you made. But before the groin, and the ankle injury from the James Harden Leg kick out, Reddish was the best defender on the team & his offense was beginning to show. He was misused by Ham, same as Prince.

The thing is, if Ham had played Christie during that time the same thing might have happened, if Ham hadn't benched & cut down DLo & Austin's minutes during that time same thing might have happened. It was the other players around him that did a lot of the things that had them win.

I do not agree with this. Cam avgd 2 stls in November and clearly was the better POA defender than Max; who also played during this time, but wasn't as dynamic (or tall) a defender. LAL went 12-2 in the stretch Cam was elevated. And he was a big reason why.

He will be in the rotation again this year if healthy. Dont count him out like most people did last year before the season started.

The cam reddish hate from Lakers fans is wild to me. I think people also forget the fact that he’s on a veteran minimum contract giving you this sort of impact

lol it actually doesn’t sound like those 2 things can be true. How u go from 10-1 in da startn lineup to being called a none rotation player? U niggas letn folks bully u into disrespectn Cam. Most of da ppl who try to downplay Cam are just mad he took AR starting spot last year.

Clippers game he locked up both Kawhi and PG showed he’s an NBA player. They should put him in the development department they’re so high on. How often will you find a 6’9 wing who’s already a great defender and in his past he was an elite scorer. Just lost his confidence.

Pre injury reddish on the lakers was doing good

His layup package is kinda fluid. He was so good during that one stretch then injuries came and it's over. What could've been if he was healthy all season last yr
