Read with me 🧐 Camel spiders, also known as solifuges, do not actually scream. They are arachnids that belong to the order Solifugae, and while they may look intimidating due to their large size and distinctive appearance, they do not produce vocalizations. The myth of camel spiders screaming likely stems from the fact that they can make hissing or buzzing sounds by rubbing their chelicerae (jaws) together, which is a form of stridulation. However, these sounds are not screams and are not related to any vocalization or distress on the part of the spider. It's important to note that camel spiders are generally not dangerous to humans, and the myths surrounding them are often exaggerated. 📷: IFLScience

the spider is rubbing certain body parts together to create that shrill, almost mechanical sound. It's pretty creepy, but also kind of fascinating!
