I guess because it’s a sign of dominance over you. Septum rings were used in pigs and cattle so you could lead them around by the nose. It kept them from putting their head through the fence. It kept the hogs from rooting up the pasture. So I guess you can think of those reasons I don’t know I don’t really care for them but I really don’t like piercings of any kind myself just a personal preference.
