Sad this. The Street Guardians found a vulnerable family on the streets in town on the weekend. They have put them in the Adelphi Hotel for now and given them money for food. But this is only short term. We need to find them somewhere to live and get them on their feet. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone wants to bring food down to them message me and I’ll connect you with them. If anyone wants to send them a few quid for food message me and I’ll send you his bank details. They are in safe hands being looked after by The Street Guardians but if any of you can help take the pressure off them it would be a big help. As they are paying everything out of their own pocket. We’ve just met them in the hotel and done an interview to explain their situation. I’ll post this later. Of which Lagos University Teaching Hospital gave us estimated bill of 9Millon Naira or less depending on the number of cycles of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy she will be needing. She have been able to commence treatment but unfortunately for us financial restrictions have limited us in furthering her treatment. Bad news I’m afraid. We’ve got her into a hotel and she’s been chased out by certain people: This is the sad story of a young girl we found on the streets. She’s been put into a hotel but they have been banging on her door with knives threatening to kill her. The Liverpool Guardians have had to go and get her out and find somewhere else for her. Apparently police have been there and there has been all kinds of drama. I’ll update the full story when I find out more.

This video is from the border area between Turkey and Syria. People are trying to cross the border from Turkey to Syria, or vice versa, and they have tried to take their cats with them. Unfortunately they have not got the required documents for their animals to cross the border. The border officials could not let them pass. The cats could not enter, so they have been abandoned. People contacted us for help. Some of these cats have been there for a few weeks. We will go and save who we can and bring them back to Ernestos where they will be health checked, treated and neutered and spayed. Please, we need to ask you for a little help. Last night, I got a late call from a breast surgeon here in Austin, TX. Her 22-year-old patient— just days away from a mastectomy—found out the plastic surgeon she had been seeing is out-of-network and her insurance doesn’t cover any out-of-network care. So now what? The breast surgeon called me and asked for a favor, knowing I take cases like this on, even if the payments are low…too low to cover the costs for me and my practice…because I think it’s the right thing to do. My team is doing everything we can to get her seen this week and to get her case approved. But here’s the thing: this isn’t a one-off. This is yet another example of how having insurance doesn’t mean you have access to care. These narrow networks are failing patients. This young woman has cancer now. She needs surgery now. And we don’t have the luxury of time to wait for policy change. The sad reality is I can’t afford to keep doing this for patients, even though I want to. We need a better system for patients and for the doctors trying to care for them. I believe we can fix this. But we need the help of the government. We need laws to change, and we don't have the luxury of time.
