Sadly this is a known issue, and currently the #1 worst bug in the game right now. Has nothing to do with Portal either. It's super lame :(

You won the fight but the game didnt properly end it for whatever reason (bug). So your combat timed out when overtime ended. When a combat times out it's treated as a tie and both players take damage according to units left+base damage. Base damage was sadly enough to kill ya

This happened to me last night on a 13+ rank streak and it gave me 5th so I just called it quits lol

it's the Auto Chess version of the ICBM gambit, obviously.
