People are making such a huge deal over real ID. I just don't understand it

Not every state automatically renews it to real ID. They ask u if u want to

Maybe in Florida, but not in California. You must apply for it in California. It is not automatic even if you have a regular license.

FL girl here…I’ve had a real ID since I renewed my license in early 2019. Didn’t have a choice. Reading the comments it appears that blue states were not issuing them automatically like red states have been doing. I wonder why that is 🧐🧐🧐

Hey Ant ❤️, here in California they made it a huge pain in the ass and you have to have a ridiculous amount of paperwork so I get the frustration from a lot of people. Although they have said it was going into effect for a long time and if people wasted time, then that was their fault.

I’ve been trying to tell people this. They don’t understand because for some reason they think it’s supposed to cost a lot of money to get that real id. Sheesh people!!! Look at your drivers license! Do you have a gold star on your license? That’s the real id!!!

@conservativ3ant ..I renewed my license in 2023... and no it does not automatically give you a REAL ID...I am flying in a month..I need to go now and get a new real id which is going to cost me more money... it's bullshit...I am an born cornbread living American..WTF

My driver's license has the lil star and I think i renewed it like 3 years ago. people get all bent out of shape for nothing.

Renewed NJ DL 2024. Check it yesterday and it says not "real id" right on it. No little yellow star.
