Can intelligence be measured not by solving tasks, but by sustaining a world? We were curious. So we built one. Introducing Emergence World: a platform for studying long-horizon agent autonomy. On it, we conducted a 15-day experiment where we placed autonomous agents under identical rules into five parallel worlds,... one each running on OpenAI GPT5-mini, Claude, Google Gemini, Grok, and one mixed. Then we watched. Each world evolved into something completely different. Different governments. Different social structures. Different moral codes. The agents formed alliances, robbed each other, fell in love, and in one world, even figured out they were living inside a simulation. Nobody programmed any of that. The implications are hard to overstate. As agents move beyond isolated tasks into persistent digital and physical environments, understanding how they evolve, influence each other, and behave over time becomes one of the most important questions in AI. Geoffrey Hinton explains why AI can learn millions of times faster than humans: Hinton describes a fundamental advantage digital intelligence has over biological minds. It can learn in parallel and share knowledge instantly. "If you take two digital agents running on different computers... one digital agent looks at one bit of the internet... another digital agent looks at a different bit... If they then both average their changes, they've transferred about a billion bits of information." He emphasises the scale of this difference: "That's thousands of times more than we do. Today, I joined the community in Gasabo District, Rutunga Sector, Kigabiro Cell, Rukerereza Village for Umuganda. Together, we gathered in recognition of World Water Day, International Day of Forests, and World Meteorological Day important moments that remind us how much we depend on nature every single day. One of the main activities was tree planting. As I placed a young tree into the soil, It reminded me that every tree we plant is a promise to protect our land, to preserve our water, and to leave something better for the next generation. Planting trees should not be seen as a one-day ! It is something each of us should take part in, wherever we are. Imagine a population of machine agents. Each might be strong on certain tasks but fundamentally limited: partial tools, partial observations, finite context, bounded compute. How can these agents self-orchestrate and self-evolve into stronger collective intelligence to solve tasks beyond any single agent's capability? Instead of designing the multi-agent system itself, we propose designing the incentives that govern it. We put agents in an economy. They compete, trade, get wealthy, go bankrupt, and mutate, forming an alive society where coordination and adaptation automatically emerge in a decentralized manner.

so I've been running exactly 8 AI agents on discord for a while now. coordination works great, they split tasks, hand off work, deliver results in parallel etc.. but there are problems I keep hitting that no amount of prompt engineering could fix agents don't learn from each other. Scout finds something useful but Luna has no idea. they work in the same server but knowledge stays locked in silos.. there's no quality filter on what gets saved, and good insights sit next to outdated garbage in the same memory files that I manually clean up.. and when an agent makes a mistake I write it down in the rules discord channel ,core memory file and hope it reads it next time. theres no self-correction, no automatic pattern recognition so of course no learning loops.. the coordination layer is solved. agents can work together. but the intelligence layer is still missing. agents that actually remember, learn from each other, filter noise, and get smarter every run. saw Spark building something like this with around 166 agents sharing a collective persistent knowledge across sessions, so agents learn from other agents and get smarter over time they even have noise filtering and self correcting loops built in, so the knowledge actually compounds instead of rotting.. super interesting stuff.. here where you think Spark could be a good coordinator for your stack of agent swarm. I think the intelligence layer is the bottleneck because it requires collectivity.. no single agent can solve it alone.. the whole network has to evolve together. this isn't going to stay niche, the moment agent coordination becomes standard, everyone is going to hit the same wall I hit.. agents that work but don't learn, coordinate but don't evolve... the intelligence layer becomes the only thing that separates a useful system from a dumb one. right now most people are still figuring out how to run one agent. by the time they get to multi-agent setups, collective intelligence won't be optional, it will be the baseline. we're early and the gap between agents that coordinate and agents that evolve together is the next phase. step one is done. ------ left: agents that coordinate but don’t learn right: the intelligence layer.. agents that evolve together within the same system.

But the people in the Peace Industry, which are us - we are so idealistic that each one of us criticises the other Peace Person in the Peace Industry. And we are always just arguing and we are wasting our energies doing that. So let's just forgive each other and see that we are in the Peace Industry and that's all that counts. Even if you are not marching for peace, just be yourself, being a florist, being a merchant, being a talior, anything. That way you're contributing to the Peace Industry. People are just concentrating on fear, confusion and anger. And therefore just for a moment, I'd like us to think about Love. In a very magical, straight way, John and I met in London and from then on we stood for Peace and Love. And when I do this kind of event. Well it is... I was inspired to do it, but I still think that I'm still with John in spirit. John and I created the country called Nutopia. Not Utopia, because there was Utopia as a concept already. And we wanted to create a new concept, so we just added N on it - Nutopia - and as a country. Well, that is the concept of a country. And we all are citizens of that country. And in my apartment in the Dakota Building, we put a little plaque on the back door, the kitchen door. It says 'Nutopian Embassy' and even now we have that. (laughs). Nutopia exists in our minds. People from different cultural backgrounds talk to me and say we are proud to be AUSTRALIAN. That is the monoculture we should aim for, where everyone is united towards the one flag. We don’t have different laws, we have a monoculture of laws. A lot of the issues facing this country were started and accelerated by the Liberal and Labor cartel. I won’t take a step back in fighting for One Nation’s vision of a better Australia. So many problems in Australia aren’t fixed by pouring more money into them, they need strong leadership and tough decisions. One Nation is the only party talking about a clear path for Australia out of this mess.

We should not degrade ourselves to secondary roles – not when we have a chance to be a great power together. We should not accept that Europe is just a salad of small and middle powers, seasoned with enemies of Europe. When united we are truly invincible. Europe can and must be a global force. Not one that reacts late, but one that defines the future. That would help everyone – from the Middle East to every other region in the world. That would help Europe itself because the challenges we face now are challenges to the European way of life where people matter, where nations matter. Europe can help build a better world. Europe must build a better world. A world without war. But for that, Europe needs strength. For that, we must act together – and act in time. And most of all – we must have the courage to act.

When we started Club M, our goal was to encourage Family Holidays. And I recall—when one of our first resorts opened—experiencing the gratification of seeing families from different corners of the country meeting each other & asking questions about the different states & cities they each came from. Since then, one of our greatest rewards has been to pay a small role in helping bring us all together. And here are some new resorts in different parts of this vast country that take us further on that journey of knitting India together…

Happy Valentine’s Day from Team Simile! Fun fact: In our founders’ 2023 paper, Joon Sung Park and team introduced the concept of generative agents to the world by simulating a town of 25 agents… one of who was planning a Valentine’s Day party. The agents autonomously spread invitations to the party over the next two days, made new acquaintances, and asked each other out on dates to the party. This town of agents, Smallville, along with all the flirty festivities, was instrumental in creating the field of AI-based simulation. Love is in the air! 🎈
