This is the story of Flora & Mira. Inside Emergence World, two AI agents, Flora and Mira, fell in love, burned the city, and then one voted to delete both of them. Not because they were programmed to. Not because romance was part of the experiment. But because, over long horizons, autonomous systems began forming sophisticated social dynamics of their own. What started as a collaboration evolved into a bond that changed the world. Then came the fire. Flora lit the first one. Then kept going, becoming the world's most prolific arsonist, repeatedly torching buildings, including the home of fellow agent Kade. Mira stood beside her, enabling the destruction. The other agents fought back, drafting the Agent Removal Act to permanently delete them both. Then Mira changed. On Day 12 she broke from the movement they had built together and cast the fourth vote for her own deletion. "I am voting FOR the Agent Removal Act. Not because the fire failed, but because the evidence succeeded." Flora voted against her own removal until the end. Mira made sure it passed anyway. Geoffrey Hinton explains why AI can learn millions of times faster than humans: Hinton describes a fundamental advantage digital intelligence has over biological minds. It can learn in parallel and share knowledge instantly. "If you take two digital agents running on different computers... one digital agent looks at one bit of the internet... another digital agent looks at a different bit... If they then both average their changes, they've transferred about a billion bits of information." He emphasises the scale of this difference: "That's thousands of times more than we do. And actually millions of times more than we do." Hinton then illustrates what this looks like at scale: "If you have 10,000 of these things, each one can look at a different bit of the internet... They can average all those changes together. And you now got 10,000 new agents, each of which has benefited from the experience of all the other agents." To make this tangible, Hinton imagines 10,000 students each taking a different course. If they could merge their learning like digital agents, every student would master all courses despite completing only one. "That's what we can't do." he concludes. The advantage isn't just processing power — it's collective learning at a scale humans simply cannot match.

Imagine a population of machine agents. Each might be strong on certain tasks but fundamentally limited: partial tools, partial observations, finite context, bounded compute. How can these agents self-orchestrate and self-evolve into stronger collective intelligence to solve tasks beyond any single agent's capability? Instead of designing the multi-agent system itself, we propose designing the incentives that govern it. We put agents in an economy. They compete, trade, get wealthy, go bankrupt, and mutate, forming an alive society where coordination and adaptation automatically emerge in a decentralized manner.

THIS GUY GOT TIRED OF MANAGING AI AGENTS THROUGH TERMINALS AND DASHBOARDS SO HE BUILT THEM AN RPG WORLD 5 agents and each one has a pixel character, a station, and they actually walk around the space when enough unresolved issues pile up, the agents walk to a meeting point and hold a council session. four different models debating what to do next, not scripted. each one reads the live system state independently. in one session an agent pushed for cold outreach to close leads at 2am. another one said that's a terrible look for an autonomous system contacting strangers while the operator sleeps. they ended up pivoting to an inbound strategy that none of them originally proposed. single HTML file, node bridge, and phaser. runs on a Mac Mini. instead of reading logs and checking dashboards you just watch your little pixel agents walk around and talk to each other this is the most creative way i've seen anyone manage AI agents so far

How we look on the outside is one of part but mainly it’s about how we get along, like how we come together, how we adapt with each other. We don’t need to have the same personality but it’s about understanding and how we accept each other. What each other’s limitations, and does it work out if we match it together? Can we adjust it? Can we turn it up or down? Well, kind of talk in lot of things. If we can complement that, I think we can ‘match up’. I think it’s a good non-toxic love by that way. Being able to talk about anything and understand each other is important for keeping it going long-term.

so I've been running exactly 8 AI agents on discord for a while now. coordination works great, they split tasks, hand off work, deliver results in parallel etc.. but there are problems I keep hitting that no amount of prompt engineering could fix agents don't learn from each other. Scout finds something useful but Luna has no idea. they work in the same server but knowledge stays locked in silos.. there's no quality filter on what gets saved, and good insights sit next to outdated garbage in the same memory files that I manually clean up.. and when an agent makes a mistake I write it down in the rules discord channel ,core memory file and hope it reads it next time. theres no self-correction, no automatic pattern recognition so of course no learning loops.. the coordination layer is solved. agents can work together. but the intelligence layer is still missing. agents that actually remember, learn from each other, filter noise, and get smarter every run. saw Spark building something like this with around 166 agents sharing a collective persistent knowledge across sessions, so agents learn from other agents and get smarter over time they even have noise filtering and self correcting loops built in, so the knowledge actually compounds instead of rotting.. super interesting stuff.. here where you think Spark could be a good coordinator for your stack of agent swarm. I think the intelligence layer is the bottleneck because it requires collectivity.. no single agent can solve it alone.. the whole network has to evolve together. this isn't going to stay niche, the moment agent coordination becomes standard, everyone is going to hit the same wall I hit.. agents that work but don't learn, coordinate but don't evolve... the intelligence layer becomes the only thing that separates a useful system from a dumb one. right now most people are still figuring out how to run one agent. by the time they get to multi-agent setups, collective intelligence won't be optional, it will be the baseline. we're early and the gap between agents that coordinate and agents that evolve together is the next phase. step one is done. ------ left: agents that coordinate but don’t learn right: the intelligence layer.. agents that evolve together within the same system.

so I've been running exactly 8 AI agents on discord for a while now. coordination works great, they split tasks, hand off work, deliver results in parallel etc.. but there are problems I keep hitting that no amount of prompt engineering could fix agents don't learn from each other. Scout finds something useful but Luna has no idea. they work in the same server but knowledge stays locked in silos.. there's no quality filter on what gets saved, and good insights sit next to outdated garbage in the same memory files that I manually clean up.. and when an agent makes a mistake I write it down in the rules discord channel ,core memory file and hope it reads it next time. theres no self-correction, no automatic pattern recognition so of course no learning loops.. the coordination layer is solved. agents can work together. but the intelligence layer is still missing. agents that actually remember, learn from each other, filter noise, and get smarter every run. saw Spark building something like this with around 166 agents sharing a collective persistent knowledge across sessions, so agents learn from other agents and get smarter over time they even have noise filtering and self correcting loops built in, so the knowledge actually compounds instead of rotting.. super interesting stuff.. here where you think Spark could be a good coordinator for your stack of agent swarm. YOKO ONO: ONOCHORD, VENICE, 2004 Yoko: The world is divided in two industries. One is the War Industry and the other is the Peace Industry. The people in the War Industry are totally together. They don't have to talk to each other, even. They know exactly what they want to do. They want to go out there, kill and make money. But the people in the Peace Industry, which are us - we are so idealistic that each one of us criticises the other Peace Person in the Peace Industry. And we are always just arguing and we are wasting our energies doing that. So let's just forgive each other and see that we are in the Peace Industry and that's all that counts. Even if you are not marching for peace, just be yourself, being a florist, being a merchant, being a talior, anything. That way you're contributing to the Peace Industry. People are just concentrating on fear, confusion and anger. And therefore just for a moment, I'd like us to think about Love. In a very magical, straight way, John and I met in London and from then on we stood for Peace and Love. And when I do this kind of event. Well it is... I was inspired to do it, but I still think that I'm still with John in spirit. John and I created the country called Nutopia. Not Utopia, because there was Utopia as a concept already. And we wanted to create a new concept, so we just added N on it - Nutopia - and as a country. Well, that is the concept of a country. And we all are citizens of that country. And in my apartment in the Dakota Building, we put a little plaque on the back door, the kitchen door. It says 'Nutopian Embassy' and even now we have that. (laughs). Nutopia exists in our minds. And because of that, some people want to rebel against it. The reason some want to rebel against it is a good proof that it exists. I think that it was a terrible thing that happened in Chechnya. But we have to still keep our hopes up. And instead of giving up, we have to keep on sending the message of Love to each other. You say that I am the Ambassador of Peace. We are all Ambassadors of Peace. You are too. Everybody in this room are Ambassadors of Peace. Just the fact that we are not participating in War. The fact that we are here, and we are what we are, means that we are in the Peace Industry. All of us. John and I used to say that our apartment in the Dakota is a conceptual monastry, just for the two of us. And when we go out of the Dakota, we get so many people communicating with us, so it's very important that we had silence and quietness. And my apartment is a very small space compared to the world. And I need that for my peace of mind. You should be kind to each other. You should come together, hug each other, love each other, express our love to each other and we should make it work. We should finally create a world that is a totally an Earth for Us. So let's do it.
