McDonald’s and other local fast food places near my house wont accept $50 or $100’s though I don’t think it’s because of counterfeit but because they don’t want to be breaking big bills.

Yes. Hardly anywhere accept £50 notes in the UK. Where I work we regularly get people coming in to swap £50’s for smaller notes because we are one of the only places that will take them.
