Can we really get gold from rivers using these tools and methods?

Gotta get down to bedrock with a dredge in a river that actually has gold, but yes. This is the last step though, by the time you get to this point you’ve likely processed several cubic yards of material.

if it was so easy and gold so abundant that you could get ounces from just a small river then everybody would be doing this

Gold panning is real but you need a lot of patience for very little gold. The process is oddly therapeutic though
