CAN WE SWITCH OFF TWITTER/X FOR A WHILE AND BUILD A SPACE FOR INNER FREEDOM? Below, I offer a short new year's reflection on the need to turn inwards, in a hyper-connected world, switch off Twitter for a while, and rediscover the value of our inner freedom.

Whilst I agree with you Until justice has been served we must battle on! I did take notice you only mentioned “Twitter/X” 🤔 Why would you encourage people to switch of the only social media platform that has free speech? When @elonmusk purchased Twitter he opened the doors to investigative journalists that exposed the corruption of governments censoring people for telling their story truth!

Switch off from time to time, not necessarily jump ship entirely. Not become a slave to it, which is hard as these platforms are designed to be addictive. I just recommend for myself and others to do some media “de-tox” when they can, and not let these media interfere with our ability to be *present* and live our offline lives to the full. :)

Happy New Year to you too! 🎉☃️

Thanks Martin!

Very true David, it’s important to take stock of what we have and give the people who mean the most to us the time they deserve. Happy new year to you and your family.

Thanks Elaine, happy new year and best wishes to you and yours!

Fair enough David. But slight risk of supporting evolving battle against social media, no?

It's all about balance. I would not say for people to withdraw from social media (though there may be people who just can't take it and need a long break), just to put our mental health and relationships first. So a journalist needs to be on it more than the average citizen. But we all need to be aware of its addictive quality and measure our use accordingly.

The inner anchor is called God, and until we go back to him we'll just continue to decline as a society...but people don't want to hear that as it means changing their lives.

I liked this message while listening to it... And then, at the finish... did you say "insanity of THE pandemic"? Yes. That's troubling... There are perfectly reasonable grounds to refuse to accept that as an undisputed fact:
