can we talk about how graphically impressive doax2 still is today. THIS CAME OUT IN 2006.

when she drags the cloth across the sand…team ninja was flexing on these hoes omg.

Small detail I came to appreciate is the swimwear. They felt like actual pieces that existed. They had this early 2000s feel. Gradients and patterns were nice. It’s weird how Itagaki gave everything personality.

exactly!! they were all so cute. this one was my fav

Yes so cute! I think a few outfits were shared but for the most part each item had a quality of the girl who was wearing them. Each piece felt like a Hitomi hand pick. I miss that 🤩

Mr. Itagaki and Team Ninja when asked to make a sequel to DOAX1

and it wasn’t meth they were cooking 🙂↕️

I know I know

it got hate at the time but DOA4/X2 has my favorite handling of long hair physics ever 😭

that graphic level was insane!!!

they definetly peaked there

But 2 years later we had burnout, paradise, graphically, impressive, but also simulated realistic car damage before beamng drive

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volley Ball is also impressive for the Original Xbox. It's such a shame that series got obliterated in the west for being "too lewd"

Legitimately, those cloth physics are amazing. That exact kind of thing will slow down the framerate in Blender on a modern system. They must have been summoning actual magic to make these graphics work back then.

The 360 was the last major graphical leap in gaming.

Interesting note: Itagaki personally coded the blackjack and their particular AI tells and habits. he also coded the jetski and waterslides. guess what was conspicuously absent in X3...

No me sorprende 💓

all the polygons went to the fabric😭

the jiggle physics of the boobs are just SO BAD! but yes, I'd LOVE for this game to be available once more. I'd love to be able to play my DOAX again WITHOUT any damned predatory practices like Zach bucks >_>

This level of animation would kill a modern console

I mean... of course it will be graphically impressive. Its the whole game with these fully animated sequences and then like 1% is actual gameplay... The devtime has to be spent somewhere and we all know where it was spent...

the bouncy hair is really reminiscent of modded hairstyles in games, like all those skyrim long hairs. but the strand shit they have when it drapes smoothly over the body is obviously way more advanced

DOAX2 and DOA4 were always ahead of their time graphically. Both amazing games!

maybe im too gay, but seagulls and waves are the intro to count contessa

Come on you make it sound like it came out 20 years ago

ugh my love for doa will never die

They used two different proprietary physics engines in DOAX2 :)

aside from physics, i feel like the graphics didn’t change or improve too much from the OG Xbox (unless i just haven’t seen DOA4/X2 enough)

@ExcaliburOfTime you used the wrong account!!

Kasumi's dance is beautiful. The graphics are ahead of their time. I keep remembering 2000's fools who said this game was made by creeps. They hoped we'd act like animals. They lost. Here we are admiring history. Memories of a golden time.

And the bikinis are so cute and stylish dude😭🩷Itagaki was cookin when making this game

All graphic advancements come to us in the name of making hot women to jork it to

I'm convinced the team working on these games are wizards... I saw a vid on the 3DS version and even that somehow looks good.

The cloth physicas in this and DOA 4 were unmatched

Dude what are those physics. Too advanced for a 2006 game

Ppl slept on this series. No one taking it seriously because 'boob game' is just crazy. Like not only was it genuinely fun and memorable, it holds up insanely well graphically 20 years later w/out being pixel art or cel shade or whatever.

❤️Kasumi❤️

@FeistyPhoenix_ And that’s just one of the things I enjoy about this game Another thing I enjoy is that if you give the girls shoes they actually make noises unlike X3 and later

I mean it's very cool looking, but videogame systems in 2006 were pretty "modern" already, so something like this wasn't out of the ordinary. Now go back about a decade, and 2 generations, to Zelda OoT and watch Ganon's cape do the same thing on the N64... that's impressive. :)

I love the game. It was beautiful and had great seadoo races. (Kind of a Waverace fan)
