The confusion about whether former Eagles OC, Kevin Patullo, was fired or not isn't that confusing. They never used the word fired. In short, they care about him, value what he has done for the organization, and are allowing him to weigh his options and decide if he wants to come back in a different role. Philadelphia, & their entire front office, are a class org. They value people, respect them, and treat them right. They also know what he has meant to their 2 Super Bowls runs, despite not working out at OC. The players who praised him all season and after the wild-card loss do so with sincerity. It is not lip service or professionalism. They genuinely respect him. Almost every player was asked about him after their loss, nobody wavered in their praise for him. Nick has explained what they are doing, and the players have expressed their role in the season's struggles. Below is from right after the game.

In South Africa when one has a problem with government, what does one do? Vote them out? Visit the officials at their offices? File a grievance? This possession is why I'm so skeptical of the Duren/Ausar pairing long-term. They both prefer to work in the same areas of the court and the coaching staff all season has not been intentional enough in how they space with those two. Their reactions are to move to same areas.
