Doug Ford has a 21% approval rating. So he does what politicians with 21% approval ratings do: He picks fights he cannot win. He pulled US alcohol off Ontario shelves in 2025. He said it was “an irritant.” He was right. It irritated the U.S. into a 50% tariff on Canadian goods (it was cited by the White House as the reason). Ford now claims Canada can “dismantle” the American economy. Canada trades roughly $800 billion with the US every year. The US GDP is more than $28 trillion. Ontario is not dismantling that. Ford is not in a position to be conducting foreign policy. He is not a signatory to any trade agreement. He has no authority over CUSMA. He has no seat at the negotiating table. He is running a symbolic retaliation campaign that provoked a 50% tariff. Then when the tariffs hit us, he demanded Ottawa retaliate. His strategy is to poke the bear. Ford’s polling problem is not Ottawa’s foreign policy problem. Because of him, Canadian exporters are now paying the tariff Ford’s theatre triggered.

Yes, the same crowd that has chanted “Death to Canada, Death to the USA, Death to Israel” and has burned the Canadian flag… And our police turned off our national anthem for them. Disgraceful. No foreign flag should ever be raised over Canadian soil — and silencing O Canada for it is an embarrassment to this country.

Quebec’s immigration minister Jean-François Roberge announced last week a new legal framework that will for the first time officially promote the integration of immigrants in Quebec society and culture, in direct opposition to the failed and divisive Canadian model of multiculturalism. Quebec recognizes diversity and the influence of immigrants on our culture, but doesn’t want them to stay in ethnic ghettos, separated from the rest of society. I wholeheartedly support this plan, which is similar to what the PPC proposes for all of Canada, and should be emulated by other provinces. Canadian identity is NOT anything and everything, as the multiculturalist ideology defines it, which is the same as saying it’s nothing. Canada is a very big and diverse country that has some common national cultural traits, but also many distinct regional cultures based on our founding peoples that developed over centuries, only exist in our part of the world, and are worth preserving. It is these that define what Canada is. And if we want Canada to survive as a country with its own identity, we must tell immigrants to integrate in these cultures — or go back to their country of origin if they prefer to live in that foreign culture.

The Canadian dollar is near its lowest point in over 20 years. This is what happens when the world loses confidence in the economy and your Prime Minister. It’s the global market, giving us an objective view of our future. Under the last Conservative government, the loonie hit historic highs. Why? Corporate tax cuts, trade surpluses, and record foreign investment flowing into Canada. Today under Carney: a recession, USMCA being exited by the US, 120,000 Canadians leaving the country in a single year, and low productivity with nearly 40% of our highest income earners leaving the country. We will now experience inflation on imports as a result. The Bank of Canada faces a difficult choice: if they lower interest rates, the dollar will decline further. If they raise interest rates, it will likely choke economic growth while inflation continues to increase. The word for it is stagflation. I think this is a key & overlooked metric of the health of our economy & future. It’s no bueno.

In the Canadian Parliament, when I hosted 12 organizations from different communities including Iranian, Venezuelan, Cuban, Indian, Christian, and Jewish communities on protecting Canada against hostile foreign influence, I asked Liberal MP Vince Gasparro if we can count on his support to list the Muslim Brotherhood as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in Canada. Now, the US has listed them. It is time for Canada to do the same. We both believe that protecting Canadian national security must be a non-partisan issue. This includes a rapid process of only 14 days for a foreign doctor to get a work permit, inside Canada. The Federal government is also creating a new 5,000 person immigration pool for international doctors to come to Canada. This is on top of a newly announced express entry for foreign doctors who have already worked at least one year inside Canada. Over the last 10 years the Liberal government packed in millions of immigrants, temporary foreign workers, refugees, asylum seekers & international students. This unsustainable migration policy was done in a bid to create new Liberal voters, as the Liberal brand plummeted in domestic support since 2019. You will note the Liberals have not announced any plan to halt immigration to Canada, until our healthcare system can stabilize. I fear Canadians will be in for a very rude awakening as foreign doctors, who may have some very unethical motives, take over many healthcare departments. This is more proof that the Liberal party cared more about holding onto power, at any cost, than the lives of Canadians that would be lost, as our healthcare system collapsed.

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand was asked about Canadian arms ending up in Sudan via the UAE. Although she says that she takes this issue “extremely seriously,” she has not stopped the flow of weapons. We know that UAE is arming the RSF paramilitaries, and that Canadian armoured vehicles are being used by the RSF in El Fasher. How long is Canada going to pretend that there isn’t a problem? We continue to call on Anand to suspend military exports to the UAE and investigate how Canadian weapons are fueling genocide in Sudan.
