Wow. Great news. Brookfield’s plan to export hydroelectricity out of Canada to the United States has received a NEGATIVE recommendation from Canada’s Energy Regulator. The final decision is now in the hands of the Liberal Cabinet and Mark Carney. Will they sell Canada out?

For a decade, it's been run by anti-business Liberals who just replaced their leader with an autocratic banker. Mark Carney has never built a business in his life—he only sat atop one. His biggest "achievement"? Trying to engineer a cartel of climate activist financiers to strangle investment in Canadian oil and gas. Thankfully, it failed. Trump says that we may be a “substantially enlarged country in the not too distant future”. He then hinted at abolishing income tax and moving back to tariffs. It sounds like Trump’s plan is to absorb Canada and Greenland, to become a self-sustaining empire and one of the largest producers of oil and natural gas on Earth, then move back to a tariff-based system that incentivizes the purchase of US goods, and abolish income tax after DOGE trims all the fat. Whether or not he will be able to accomplish this is one thing, but that appears to be his plan. He has been hinting at it for weeks now. So long as it’s done diplomatically, all parties agree, and there is no more income tax, I can get behind this idea. I understand this sounds impossible, but Trump has a knack for the impossible.

The problem with believing you are Bobby Big Bollocks is. There’s always someone with bigger bollocks than you. Canada’s public boycott of US products is really starting to take shape and Canada’s talks with the EU on oil and gas sales presents an opportunity for Canada to diversify trade while at the same time strengthening the EU’s position with the U.S. If this becomes a full on trade war, countries can work together to hurt the US more than they can hurt us. It’s all about smart management built of consultation. The UK and Europe should be looking to discount travel from Canada and Mexico and visa versa.
