We need a legal path forward that allows individuals with U.S.-citizen children and grandchildren to come out of the shadows, pay back taxes and a fine, and contribute—without receiving government benefits. This is not a pathway to citizenship under any circumstances for anyone who broke our laws by coming to the United States. Our immigration system has been broken for 40 years, and doing nothing is not an option.

Now is the time to bring Albertans together by securing big wins for our province that provide hope for a prosperous future, not follow the NDP into anger and division. I will continue to call out the NDP when they offer only outrage instead of working to right the wrongs of Ottawa these past 10 years, and I will keep standing up for Albertans who are rightly frustrated with the deal this province has received for far too long. Ottawa would rather force a $70B taxpayer-funded “solution” wrapped in net-zero strings than remove the laws holding Alberta back. It is not unreasonable for Alberta to demand fairness from Ottawa. They have shown time and again that they will put ideology before practicality, which hurts Alberta families and our economy. We’re not going to apologize for continuing to stand up for Albertans so we get the best deal possible. Since Ottawa refuses to acknowledge their overreach and its negative impacts, even after losing battles at the Federal and Supreme Courts, we are putting in additional measures to protect our provincial jurisdiction to ensure our province receives our fair share of federal tax dollars and that those dollars are spent on the priorities of Albertans. During the trucker convoy, many of us still believed in Canada. We had Canadian flags on our vehicles. Canadian flags on our lawns. We were proud Canadians who believed that flag still represented freedom, unity, and the right to peacefully disagree. Then we watched how Canada treated its own people. That moment changed a lot of Albertans. It forced us to ask a hard question: What country are we trying to save? For Albertans, independence began with heartbreak and betrayal. It began with realizing that the Canada we loved no longer loved us back. That is why I support Alberta independence.
