Canadians need their governments focused on real projects, not a fantasy pipeline with no investors. BC has billions of dollars in privately led projects that are going to create thousands of jobs and bring prosperity to Canada. We cannot put them at risk.

David Eby's whole premises of being against an oil pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia's coast is that First Nations might throw a hissy fit and then be against all the other projects happening on the coast (LNG). "The threat to these projects (LNG) is that coastal First Nations saying that if you lift the tanker ban we will no longer support these projects, we don't even like them in the first place." Complete bs. First of all, many of the actual coastal First Nations are a part of these projects as they get billions in backing to buy in. Second of all, the prosperity of Canada will not be held back by a few villages that need taxpayer dollars to live off. Thirdly, the tankers are not going down the coast of BC but leaving for Asia

Let’s be clear about what Alberta is proposing: BC loses billions of dollars of major projects from private investors. AND Canadian taxpayers are forced to pay billions more because there is no interest from a private company. That’s not fair & fairness is a Canadian value.

To get elected, 6 months ago Mark Carney promised to get shovels in the ground on big projects at "unimaginable speeds". But what Canadians got was the same old Liberal bait and switch, photo ops, and more bureaucracy because Carney is just another Liberal. If the Liberals want to get big projects built in Canada to create Canadian jobs with Canadian steel and pay for programs that all Canadians want, the Liberals must repeal their anti-development laws that hold Canada back.

If Private Investors Won't Invest...Why Should Taxpayers? I'm strongly in favour of exporting more Alberta oil. As Alberta's former Energy Minister, I believe we should build the right projects for the right reasons. But these new pipeline proposals, together with a proposed $65-billion carbon capture project, raise serious questions. If the economics are sound, where are the private investors? The proposed northern pipeline alone is estimated to cost between $70 billion and $100 billion. If governments borrow roughly $150 billion to build these projects, billions of dollars in interest payments would come before Albertans ever see a return – if at all. Supporting Alberta's energy industry doesn't mean saying yes to every project. It means saying yes to projects that make economic sense, protect taxpayers, and deliver real value for Albertans. Good governments do the homework before they ask Albertans to pay the bill. #albertaenergy #alberta #abpoli #cdnpoli #abtory
