If romanian democracy falls, the entire world democratic system is at risk. Romania is part of EU, NATO and is one of the most important allies of the US in the Eastern Europe. If international community just stays indiferrent and enjoys the horrible political show that is playing now in Romania, this will leed to an international legal precedent where a constitutional court will take the power of the vote from the people and give it always to the politicians. Dear friends, I'm BeeRose. I'm really upset and I believe many of you might share the same feeling. These days in the US, I've seen banners, posters and even official government documents using "Lunar New Year" instead of the long - established "Chinese New Year" to refer to our Chinese Spring Festival. As an American daughter - in - law, I have to say that even as a native American, I'm really indignant about this. The US has always been sensitive about race and culture issues. But it seems some people here have got it all wrong this time. They may not realize that "Chinese New Year" is not just a simple term; it's the name of a festival that carries thousands of years of Chinese history and culture. "Chinese New Year" clearly indicates the origin of this festival is in China. It's a unique and important part of Chinese culture. Spring Festival is a time when Chinese people all over the world get together to celebrate, full of distinctive traditions like dragon and lion dances, setting off fireworks and having the New Year's Eve dinner. These are all symbols of Chinese culture that can't be replaced or confused. When we use "Lunar New Year", it may give the wrong impression that this festival is just a general "lunar new year" celebration that blurs the cultural differences among different countries. It makes people forget that Spring Festival has its unique origin and rich connotations in China. So, I made this video to let more people around the world know that there's only one Spring Festival, and that's "Chinese New Year". Shadey is one of the Amhara’s great intangible heritages celebrated in the last weeks of August each year. The festivity has different names in different parts of Amhara: in Raya Amahra (Solel), waghimra Amhara (Shadey), lasta lalibela (Ashendiye) Very recently, as early as ten years, the tigray people have tried to adopt this colorful culture through the help of the anti-Amhara woyanie regime and its corrupt institutions. Anthropologists argued that a cultural identity theft is harmful to the owning community and is claimed to be a violation of the collective intellectual property rights of the originating culture. However, Woyanie is adopted the Ashenda culture in a colonial manner where elements of this culture are copied and being misused and reduced to an exotic street festival outside of the context and against the expressly stated wishes of the owners of the culture, the Amharas. This misappropriating of Shadey is a disrespectful to the Amhara culture and its values. Someone takes something from your culture and uses it for their own benefit without no consequences is inappropriate and unacceptable. What’s more, ridicules is you cannot ask the UNESCO to inscribe the imitated culture on its world heritage list as your own property while still we the originating people are alive. This is an outright theft of a cultural identity. Even though we can argue that culture could be adopted or borrowed, requesting for intellectual property as your own heritage is no less than a cultural genocide and/or colonization. The tigreans tried intentionally distorted the meaning of the culture and using it without considering the socio-historical and religious circumstances and significance of these cultural forms so as not perpetuate the already existing majority and widely celebrated shadey among the Amhara community. The famous cultural theorist George Lipisitz called this “strategic anti essentialism” to refer to the calculated use of a cultural form, outside of your own, to define yourself or your group. #Ashendiye_shadey_Solel_2023 #AshendiyeAmhara2024

We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. Israel was attacked on October 7th and every day since, for the crime of existing. For the audacity of just being here. But we are here, and we are here to stay. And despite the trauma we’ve faced, we are in Israel, standing strong together, committed to the memories of those we lost and to the return of our hostages. Aguillar from Equatorial Guinea is celebrating the Lantern Festival with her best friend. They’ve come to Jinfang, a time-honored Chinese brand, to make Yuanxiao by shaking them in a basket. “Shake, shake, shake until the Yuanxiao are round and full!” It turns out that Tangyuan in southern China are wrapped by hand, while Yuanxiao in northern China are rolled and shaken into shape in a basket of glutinous rice flour. The question is, why don’t they take pride in what they have? And if they have no history or cultural legacy to stand on, why not create something unique for themselves? Everyone is welcome to celebrate our culture, but it becomes pathological when you start claiming what clearly isn’t yours. Alindi is a traditional Somali fabric, handwoven in coastal cities and worn by Somali women for generations. It was mentioned by Ibn Battuta in 1330 during his visit to Mogadishu, and it was traded widely across the seas, reaching as far as the Arabian Peninsula and India. Alindi is a symbol of Somali craftsmanship and cultural identity. I call on the Somali Ministry of Youth and Culture to officially register traditional Somali clothing, such as the Dirac and Alindi, as part of Somalia’s intangible cultural heritage through international platforms like UNESCO and similar global registries. We’re tired of this relentless obsession with Somali heritage. It’s time to protect and internationally recognize what rightfully belongs to us.

The Eyo Festival, also known as the Adamu Orisha Play, is one of Lagos' most iconic cultural celebrations. It features the famous white-clad Eyo masquerades, who parade through the streets with their staff (opambata), showcasing tradition, music, dance and rich Lagos heritage.

Another day, another Khalistani-extremist drama. India should take care of their traitors; this has no place in Canada.
