Can't explain why but I truly hate this sequence, can't decide whether I hate the inscrutable visual metaphor or the leadenly pretentious song more

The black balled metaphor somehow both completely overdone and also irritatingly abstract paired with a song that doesn't really fit the bright, colorful title sequence is really not fun

I cannot figure out for the life of me what the balls are supposed to be. Is each color supposed to be a different character??? Does it represent their personalities????
