I lived with an Irish Setter for 9 years and they are the OG divas.

Silliest, most loving dogs ever…if you have the stamina of Superman, patience of a saint, and a LOT of acreage for them to run off leash! Not for city dwellers or the sedentary.

This makes me miss Fitzgerald, King of the Irish setters, even more. I've been looking and looking for an adult Irish to adopt. (My wife has rightly convinced me I'm far too old at 80 to raise another puppy.) So far no joy. Keep and eye out for me, would you?

My 3 dogs fight over my scrunchie all the time. Sonny gets on the back, top of my recliner and Tia gets in my face and starts kisses to distract me while Sonny grabs the scrunchie and takes off running, followed closely behind by Tia and Dordy. It's a conspiracy.

I love Irish setters. They are beautiful dogs, and their coats are so smooth/soft, they are among the best to pet, but will you hate me if I say they aren't the sharpest pencils in the box?

My third set of roommates in Ohio had a boxer. I was laying on the living room floor and every time I tried to sit up the dog kept me wrestled down by the scrunchie in my hair😂 my BF had to help me up😆
