30fps isn’t enough today. Can it do 1080p 45-60fps? Maybe some FSR or frame gen?

brother it’ll do 4k 30 with FSR. WELL over 60 at 1080p depending on the title…

Cool that sounds great! I’ll do 1080/60 over Anything/30 any day

Once FSR 4 officially comes out for the Steam Machine it’ll be even better

It’s already out. I was using it in God of War.

Lol PS5 pro nukes your steam machine

Valve dropped the ball with the SteamMachine and it has nothing to do with the price. It’s underpowered and cannot handle my Steam library on a 4K TV. Valve should have offered a pro model for us enthusiasts who want a little more horsepower.

You don’t get a steam machine for higher specs. Just like you don’t get a switch 2 for raw power. It’s the experience, the feel, the form factor. It’s unfortunate that the price is so high. This is a great product regardless

Won’t touch this with a 100ft pole

Surprise! It basically performs like a modern console. Most people don’t realize their PS5 or Series X are not doing native 4k 60 FPS. If consoles had a FPS counter, everyone would be shocked.

it's the fun box!

ofc 30-35 fps is enough for a console peasant

say it again (I have 2 of these)

Whether you own a PC or not is irrelevant; if you are defending 30 fps, you will remain a console peasant in my eyes.

I think what alot of people don't realize is that this is the worst steam machine will ever be. I had a launch steam deck, the difference between steam OS now and when I bought it is like night and day and the performance is significantly improved as well as its efficency.

The main confusion I keep seeing is people thinking it's meant to replace your console or your power PC. The gabecube has its own use case outside those two and isn't to be directly compared.

Dude this video makes look bad the steam machine compared to a 2020 console that runs it at 60fps. In other words, Steam machine sucks for be a 2026 PC console.

I rather play it on steam deck ultra low for 35 fps

The Steam Machine is essentially a retro games console. Maybe not be playing any new games at any effective frame rates next year

This is FSR AA. If you run 1080p native and upscale to 1440/4k, you'll get 60 EASY. People don't understand: THIS IS WHAT CONSOLES DO. They do not render native 4k. They upscale.

Jesus it looks so slow.

Steam was built for 2K max not 4K stop whinning about it!

30fps pc and 30 fps console it’s not the same, on pc you will get frame drops and stutters and console nahh its really good, i’m playing on my pc 70-100fps everything maxed out no frame gen and shit, it’s amazing

Look nice, BUT not $1000 nice.

Why would I hurt my eyes playing at 35fps, come on now. You add $100 to $200, and you could just build your own PC and get 2K 60fps

You're not supposed to have that box on the left of the monitor anymore though

Very poor performance for a machine that's too expensive

for 1000 bucks? 30 fps for putting it on the same table that you could put a powerful pc? No thanks. At least used from the couch

1300$ with no controller included to play at 40 fps? Lmao. Steam machine is a hot piece of garbage.

Bro spends $1000+ to play an Ubisoft game

what’s a good game in your eyes then?

It's ok, but honestly everyone was hoping for at least a 9060 xt performance GPU combo with 7700x CPU. That would slap. Or upgradable GPU.

A waste of money. Use those dollars to buy a better, future proof, small factor PC.

I want to see cyberpunk 2077

Why is the frame rate blurred?

because it’s microscopic with the overlay. I had to magnify it.

That valve paycheck must be nice if you're willing to produce high praise for overpriced tech that performs worse than a PS5.

I got this game on ps5 from my friend (game sharing) I was surprised the 3 modes 30fps quality, 40fps balanced and 60fps performance. I settled on balanced because the game looks so much better. Some point I need to try it on my pc @ 1440p

on new games consoles always upscale, I'm curious what the performance would be like with the steam machine upscaling and FG enabled

30fps hahahah in 1440p, my 6 yrd old pc running that game in 90fps on high
