Cape Fear doesn’t need a remake. Why would you ever remake something Martin Scorsese made so well? With that said…Apple has earned some benefit of the doubt from me after they remade Presumed Innocent into an excellent series. I will watch Cape Fear, albeit with hesitations.

I’m excited to see Amy Adams in the new Cape Fear remake over on Apple. Adams has had a rough go the last five or so years & hasn’t recaptured the unforgettable run she went on from 2010 to basically 2020. She’s as good as it gets. I hope she regains her footing with Cape Fear.

Apple TV’s Cape Fear hasn’t given me a single reason as to why it should be made. My full review will come after I’ve seen every episode at the end of July, but so far, the show has trickled into a bit of a letdown because Max Cady isn’t allowed to take off the gloves. Javier Bardem needs to be unleashed the way Scorsese unleashed De Niro. I haven’t finished the entire series, but so far, it’s not as good as its predecessors.

Gregory Peck on the reason Robert Mitchum was cast as Max Cady in "Cape Fear" (1962) & answers to Mitchum's claims that he "acted Gregory Peck off the screen": "I thought "Cape Fear" (1962) was quite good, quite tight. As for what made it so frightening, that was Bob Mitchum. He was so excellent. He was reptilian and subtle and very threatening. That piece of casting was essentially my idea. I thought of Mitchum because I remembered 'The Night of the Hunter' (1955). I knew what Bob was capable of doing in a good part. I had given him the role and had paid him a terrific amount of money. Amy Klobuchar doesn’t want to debate me… After she watched this they ran for the hills. The Star Tribune has had enough of their smear campaigns… I’m too competent intellectually. If this gap between us in these these polls doesn’t widen, watch for the old Me Too attack. They’re finished, all that’s left is you Minnesota. Don’t do what’s convenient or easy. We’re gearing up for something special. You don’t have to like me, you don’t have agree with me, but something is wrong with Washington DC. Something is wrong with our information. I promise you this… I’m not apart of that corruption. Which is why both sides of the aisle fear me like the midnight rider. And both sides are right to fear me. If I find corrupt Republicans I will call them out. Can Amy say the same? Give me a chance and I guarantee you 1 thing… We will uncover what has been going on in that place, right under our nose. Salma Hayek says she improvised the snake dance scene in From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), despite her fear of snakes, after Quentin Tarantino threatened to replace her with Madonna. “Quentin told me, ‘...you’re dancing with a snake.’ I said, ‘I can’t do that… it’s my greatest fear.’” “He said, well, Madonna will do it… and she’s willing to dance with the snake.” Hayek says the fear completely took over her body during filming. “I don’t even remember most of the shoot… I had to go into a trance to do the dance.” And nothing about it was planned. “It was improvised. Because you can’t choreograph a snake… we don’t know what she’s going to do.”

[WATCH] Rev. Frank Chikane has called for a boycott of all products from Israel. Speaking at the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in Cape Town, Chikane said, "We boycott everything that comes from Israel or goes to Israel, and we have talked with trade union federations, and they have agreed that we are going to deal with those products that are sent to Israel, and they have said they will support it."
