ONE YEAR AGO, Captain Smit Machchhar was asked what's a bigger high: A smooth landing, or an on-time arrival? His answer: "None. Safe. You don't have to think about on time. They've hired other people to take care of that." "A positive landing. Safe landing where I'm supposed to land. If it turns out smooth, perfect." Today, stabbed by his co-pilot, he still got the cockpit door open so passengers could stop the hijacking. He saved the lives of all 174 passengers, and they had a safe landing. Thank you, Captain Machchhar.

NEW: TMZ alleges there was a fifth plane on 9/11 that was covered up by the FBI. In a new documentary, TMZ interviewed 3 flight attendants and the pilot who were on United Flight 23. After being evacuated from the plane, the pilot says they later found that the hatch on the bottom of the plane had been opened. "The airplane was locked and sealed when I left the airplane, so something else was going on that I couldn't explain." The flight crew said there were four "Arabs" on the plane who demanded that the flight take off when flight attendants tried giving them food. One of the men had requested to see the cockpit before takeoff. The crew says they were interviewed by the FBI, but never heard back, and never found out if the men were questioned or not. "We have requested information about Flight 23 ... we did not get a reply," TMZ said.

NOW: Passengers have arrived safely at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel after HEROIC Indian captain Smit Machchhar fought back — opening the flight deck door so help could get in — while covered in blood after being stabbed by the Omani First Officer, who attempted to crash Flydubai FZ1073 into the ground. Fox News: “The New York Post is identifying that hero pilot. They say he's an Indian national… Smit Machchhar… he's got nearly 10,000 hours in the air. He was credited with averting a possible terror attack on Tuesday. And he was the first one that alerted the crew and passengers aboard the plane that he needed help in the cockpit.”

What happens when you're the copilot on a flydubai flight to Tel Aviv and you try to hijack the plane? You discover what it means when the passengers are Israeli. And you inspire a song.

When I told CNN India today that it was great to see Jews & Arabs battling a jihadist to save hundreds of lives on Flydubai 1073, we didn’t know the hero pilot was Indian Hindu, Smit Machchhar. It’s a beautiful metaphor for what can be: India and Israel bridging the world.🇮🇳🇮🇱

This may be the most incredible detail of the entire story. Reuters has reported that the pilot who was stabbed aboard FlyDubai Flight FZ 1073 manually released the lock on the cockpit door while he was lying on the floor. That pilot’s name is Captain Smit Machchhar. FOX: “The wounded pilot, listen to this, covered with blood and lying on the floor, had clicked open the release of the cockpit door.” “A second set of pilots on board who were due to replace the first pair, landed the plane.” “A pilot who had just been stabbed, had the wherewithal to open that cockpit door. This man can be described as none other than a hero.” That decision allowed the replacement pilots to reach the cockpit and take control of the aircraft. His heroic actions likely saved the the lives of every passenger on board.

On a FlyDubai flight from the UAE to Israel, an Omani pilot stabbed his co-pilot and put the plane into a nosedive, dropping 17,000 ft in less than 2 minutes. It was only due to the bravery of the ordinary Israelis onboard that stopped this ending horribly. Maya Sulkin dives into how the media, once again, downplayed the targeting of Israelis.

Israeli hero aboard nearly-hijacked FlyDubai flight FZ 1073: Yaniv Hayoun Hayoun has no background in security. But when he realized there was an attempted hijacking, he knew he had to do something. He ran to the cockpit and physically fought with the co-pilot, who had stabbed the pilot and was attempting to crash the plane. Hayoun put the co-pilot in a chokehold and dragged. him out of the cockpit. Others came over to help restrain him. Hayoun then went back into the cockpit and pulled back on the yoke to pull the plane out of its nosedive. The plane had dropped 17,000+ feet in under two minutes. An off-duty pilot then entered the cockpit and took over the controls, and Haroun went back out to help guard the co-pilot.

Here is what we know so far about Flydubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Israel: 1- The plane was carrying Israelis. No reports say whether they were ordinary Israeli citizens or Israeli army personnel vacationing in the UAE. Israeli army personnel have previously posted about vacations in the UAE following their service in Gaza (photo 1) 2- The Flydubai pilot was an Indian Hindu named Smit Machchhar. Initial Hebrew media reports described him as Emirati citizen. 3- The co-pilot is Omani. He allegedly stabbed the pilot and attempted to dive and crash the plane with Israeli passengers, resulting in a fight between the 2 pilots. Smit eventually managed to unlock the cockpit door. 4- Passengers intervened and subdued the Omani co-pilot, while additional pilots aboard the flight took control of the plane and landed it safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. 5- The Israeli passengers received care from a Saudi crew after landing in Saudi Arabia. 6- The Emirati based Indian pilot, Smit Machchhar, was hospitalized after suffering stab wounds, but his condition has not been officially disclosed. The Omani co-pilot was arrested, and Saudi authorities are interrogating him. Mossad is reportedly involved in the broader investigation, but there is no confirmation that Mossad interrogated him in Saudi Arabia. (Hebrew media) 7- Israeli media initially reported that El Al was planning to evacuate the Israeli passengers from Saudi Arabia to Israel, which would have marked the first overt El Al flight between the 2 countries. However, reportedly Flydubai later sent a replacement aircraft that evacuated the Israeli passengers from Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, directly to Israel.

A PILOT ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO KILL THE CAPTAIN MID-FLIGHT. Flight FZ1073 was headed from Dubai to Tel Aviv. One passenger told Fox News the co-pilot stabbed the captain, and the captain collapsed onto the controls. The plane dropped from 33,000 feet to 17,000, circled erratically, and Israel had to scramble fighter jets because it looked like a hijacking. Passengers jumped in, and it sounds like other pilots on board helped get that plane down safely in Saudi Arabia. Those people are heroes. Now we need answers fast. Who was this co-pilot, and why was he in that cockpit? A plane full of people bound for Israel almost went down, and nobody should be shrugging this off.
