In UP also, people used to sent different types of sweet dishes (all home made) along with the invitation letter (newata) which was hand written and kumkum applied on it. Things were so personal just 2 decades ago.

Used to do it with cards plus Laddu box but now not even a card - just by WhatsApp

So heartwarming♥️♥️♥️

It is great to see that you are promoting the culture of #Uttarakhand . This practice not only preserves the culture but also demonstrates the creativity and skill of the people of Uttarakhand. As you said, "Incredible Bharat." 🇮🇳💛👌

Today's young mom's don't cook daily for their kids, hired cooks and you are suggesting cooking food for village😂🤣 I am a young mom I do cooking daily with festive delicacies as well, have been told many times by them that cooking is tedious 🤦🏻♀️

That's me and my bhabhi in the video distributing daali in the village for my brother's wedding. ❤️😍

It is common way of giving invitation and sweets are also distributed after wedding.

This is so much better than giving out invitation cards 😍👌

I still remember in my childhood any one will come with wedding invitation, they brought phaji ( kind of mixed sweets like shakarparay, boondi),if someone gone to wedding they will come and give mathi’s . I remember eating mathi everyday because of that custom. Now no one does any more in Punjab!
