The Flynas airline conveyed over 300 pilgrims from Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, directly to our state, marking the successful arrival of the 2026 Hajj return flight at the Gateway International Airport. This achievement further underscores our commitment to positioning Ogun State as a leading destination for aviation, commerce, investment, and economic growth. We have substantially completed the reconstruction of Tam Balogun Road in Ijebu-Ode, with all major asphalt works now finished under our administration’s ongoing drive to strengthen road infrastructure across Ogun State. The project is currently at about 98% completion, with only lane markings left to be carried out. With both the binder and final wearing courses in place, the road is fully motorable and already improving movement, safety, and travel time for residents and road users. This 5.3-kilometre strategic road, which links Iperu to Ilishan and serves as a critical connection to the Gateway International Airport and the Sagamu–Benin Expressway, has progressed beyond earthworks, extensive drainage construction, and stone-base layers. With active asphalt works ongoing, the road is visibly taking its final shape. We note the steady pace of work delivered so far, including completed drainage systems and stabilised base courses that provide a strong foundation for long-term durability. Upon completion, this road will significantly improve mobility, enhance safety, reduce travel time, and stimulate commercial activities for communities along the corridor and airport-bound commuters. With the completion of this road and the Sagamu–Sapade Road, the Gateway International Airport will become one of the most easily accessible airports in Nigeria, seamlessly connected from the North, South, East, and West. This integrated road network is central to our plan to position Ogun State as a major logistics, aviation, and investment hub.
