I’m NOT a 747 guy, but 767 guy. They train us in the sim to go around on a bounce landing like that one. All this came after FedEx did their bounce landing in Japan a few years that didn’t end very good. I’m glad to 747 crew lived to tell the story.

More likely they initiated a go-around just before the engine maybe scraped the runway. It takes time for the engines to spool up. I doubt it was because that they scraped the engine that they would then go around but for other reasons that it was unstable
