My point is about the political logic Carl himself identified. He explicitly described Burnham’s pitch as a mirror of Restore Britain’s promise to put British people first, albeit on a smaller scale. The interesting question is whether that similarity goes beyond rhetoric.

What are you even trying to say? Burnham made a nationalistic pitch to restore the Labour Party for the Labour voters who have voted Labour forever Similarly to how Rupert is speaking to the nation as a whole and promising to restore the nation for the people who have always been here. You could argue burnham didn’t for malicious reasons and lied but there’s no doubt that was the goal.
