There has been a lot of discussion about the plaque placed on the houses of the New Social Housing Programme. The plaque on Pauline’s house does not take away her dignity. The indignity is not having a house. Today, Pauline has a safe and secure home, and that is something to be proud of. This house was built with your tax dollars. Every road, every school, every hospital and every house built with public funds is something the public should see and know about. Your money should never be spent quietly and without recognition. But getting this house also comes with a responsibility. Pauline must continue to be an upstanding member of her community and give back through the way she lives and contributes. That is what public investment should do, give people an opportunity to build a better life and strengthen their communities.

Brilliant, layered guy. Leon Balogun’s point about being distant from Nigerian culture as a German-born player is quite understandable. It’s far easier for the UK-born guys to settle into the squad, in comparison with others who probably grew up in environments that didn’t have as many Nigerians. His point about the pressure of playing for the Super Eagles preparing him for a club like Rangers is also very good. For all of the Super Eagles’ struggles, that team and the pressures that come with it is the reason many players understand the enormity of the responsibility of professional football. You have to give your best always to even stand a chance of getting respected. Leon Balogun is always a brilliant man to listen to and this interview with Joe Hart on Footballers Unfiltered wasn’t an exception.

At 6-foot-2, Francis has already shown the ability to consistently guard positions 1 through 5. She’s effective getting downhill in both the half court and in transition, and while her jumper remains an area for growth long term, she’s not hesitant to take it when available. Francis is on a trajectory to become one of the country’s top players in the seasons ahead, and she’s already carved out a place among the game’s elite defenders right now.

If you think José Mourinho's rants are wild, his first ever rant was completely insane. In 2000, Mourinho had only 8 career matches as a coach, when his Benfica player, Sabry, called him out in public. Mourinho's reply was crazy. "It's not easy for a coach to like a player who has an absurd average of offsides per game, that doesn't know how to position himself, that runs away from the pressure in away matches, that in the last few games was 3 times one on one with the goalkeeper and didn't score a goal, that at half-time, when I'm more aggressive, goes to the secretary to complain and say he's afraid of me. It's not easy for a coach to like a player like this. Then he says I never speak with him and the relationship is not correct. I have a little book about my individual meetings with the players, everything is there. With Sabry, who says I never speak with him, I had 7 individual meetings. Not one, not two, seven. And of the seven meetings, three of them were in the past 4 days. I spoke with him, but he doesn't like the things I tell him. Then he says that playing only 20 minutes in a match is little for him. Well, the only time he played only 20 minutes was against Paços de Ferreira, when he took 8 minutes just to put on his boots. Sabry left me a message via the media, so I feel perfectly confortable leaving him a message via the media as well.
