@Carsobi 1. You’re 6 years late, but welcome in 2. Why did you prioritize peak over longevity in the first place? Lots of people say this because it’s trendy but fail to give any reason 3. The idea that Bron isn’t scalable is long outdated and has had no merit since his first Cavs stint

I came to the exact same conclusion recently but for a slightly different reason. I watched a bunch of 96-98 games this summer and kind of came to the realization that 96-98 jordan is just not the same player as 88-93. I always thought 96-98 was like 90-95% of the player that 88-93 was but now I feel like it’s more 75%

@Carsobi I still think the 2011 Finals matter. MJ never cost his team quite like that, so i still think it’s a legitimate debate

@Carsobi I’ve said for a while that what MJ does better than Bron, Bron is like 95% of what MJ can do at least. But what Bron is better than MJ at, he’s better by miles

@Carsobi So we’re just gonna ignore Tim Duncan is a better floor raiser and ceiling raiser than both of these guys?

@Carsobi How is MJs peak even comparable? Less competition. Less responsibility. Needed the best team just to MAKE the finals.

@Carsobi Idk maybe I’m delusional but I value winning more. And lebron losing to a pretty much consensus not top 15 player of all time, post prime dirk led mavs team (yes that team was better than people give them credit for but still). Losing with dwade and bosh in brons prime is

@Carsobi The way this answer becomes clear is you ask yourself if a GM is given the knowledge of both players full career who would they pick first? They’re gonna take the guy who’s peak was just as good if not better than the other and who played 10+ more seasons at an all nba level.
