Weather officials are advising that thunderstorms and cooler weather are in the forecast for some parts of SoCal this week. At the same time, high tides are impacting beaches across the region. According to the National Weather Service, there are chances of thunderstorms through Wednesday night, with the highest possibilities in the Antelope Valley and interior mountain communities.

On a possible peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said “lots of good things” are happening between the counterparties discussing a land deal and that talks will continue next week. President Trump said he personally asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to halt bombing in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities for a week because of extreme cold weather. “It’s a big pile of bad weather,” Trump said. “And he agreed to do that, and I have to tell you it was very nice."

An incredible view of firing Ops on the Iron Fire in Utah. Crews continue to build containment and completed a burn the western flank yesterday, but fire weather and winds continue to be problematic. Fire managers and crews continue to asses direct and indirect options moving forward. Additional firing ops took place last night on the eastern flanks, working to tie it in just north of Highway 6. Extreme fire weather is expected in the coming days, and contingency plans are also being worked on in case it jumps the highway. The fire is now 37,170 acres and 17% contained. The Cottonwood Fire has been updated to 61,137 acres, and resources continue to work towards containment, and are busy constructing firelines. Fire weather this weekend will be an issue for a lot of fires this weekend. 📷 Jefe Lobo

It'll all begin with heavy rain slamming the West Coast this weekend into early next week, then the pattern shifts east as a parade of storms brings widespread rain, warm temperatures, and even the potential for severe weather. Because of the warmth, most of these will be rain makers, with only our brotheren in the western mountains being the only folks to get in on the snow. And although Severe Weather is certainty possible, the details still need to be ironed out. Nothing is guaranteed - but it’s definitely on the table in this setup. Get ready to get wet. 🌧️
