This is depressing. The cat is clearly extremely distressed and scared. It has no idea why this is happening and there is zero evidence this is helping the cat in any way, more likely causing more harm.

this looks like trauma to the cat. My dog had a chiropractor when he struggled with stairs and walking. Chiropractor was gentle and loving and the first adjustment corrected my dog. That night be could run upstairs again after a year of struggles. Luke a miracle. This looks off.
