When I hyperventilated in my sleep one time. My Tortie Zoe was lying on my chest staring at me when I awoke. Another time when I got up off the couch. My lower back gave way with pain. I fell back onto the couch with a loud cry. She jumped up and rubbed her head on me.

My cat did this on Monday when my mom died. I'm not sure he knew what he was doing but he laid on my chest (almost never does) and it made everything just a little bit better
