Catch up thread from this week. First up Woman’s Hour and its ‘misogyny’ interview with Raewyn Connell, who it described as a ‘feminist sociologist studying the social theory of gender relations and masculinity’. While there might be reasons to interview a man about the misogyny of claiming to be... a woman, only a team of raging activists would pretend he is a woman and ask him about his personal experience of ‘misogyny’ (of which he has none) and how to tackle it. He had no relevant expertise, except in his own perpetuation of misogyny, he added nothing, wasn’t asked the obvious questions, and was a poor, stumbling and dull radio guest. We’ve contacted the Controller of Radio 4 and the Head of Editorial Policy. /show more

So, toxic misogyny is the topic of the week, thanks to the Netflix show Adolescence. It’s even been discussed in Parliament, with plans to show it in schools as an educational resource. Meanwhile, myself and a whole bunch of other TERFs are sitting here thinking—okay, great, but would anyone like to address the toxic misogyny that insists a woman is just the feeling in a man’s head? No? How about the toxic misogyny that reduces us to "bleeders," "menstruators," and "gestational carriers"? Still no takers? Alright, then. What about the toxic misogyny in the media, where we’re expected to nod along when we see phrases like "her penis" printed with a straight face? Anyone? No? Fine. How about we talk about the toxic misogyny of masked men in balaclavas, setting off smoke bombs and hunting down women’s meetings in the streets? Men who are openly trying to intimidate and silence women for daring to gather and speak? And what about the toxic misogyny of men mocking us through drag—where our bodies and experiences are reduced to a punchline? Where sexist caricatures of women are paraded as entertainment, yet we’re told to stay silent? Is any of this worth addressing? Probably not, not when our government support it.

December 16, 2016. Obama does an hour long interview with NPR. The entire interview is stunning for a few reasons. 1. Almost everything Obama says is in direct contradiction to the intelligence report on the election that he had just recently received. The majority of this interview was spent discussing Russia's election interference to help Trump. We now know that Obama had just received a report informing him that did not happen. 2. It was extremely obvious throughout the entire interview that Obama was lying and that he knew the significance of what he was doing. 3. Obama finished the interview, left and returned to talk about a new "Intelligence Assessment" that would be dropping before Trump's inauguration. He was priming the media to be on the look out for the bogus report he had just asked for. It's impossible to overstate the magnitude of what Obama was doing during this interview. And of course he turned to NPR to help him do his dirty work.

The last planet he visited, his mother was there. And she started passing through him, in and out of him again and again and every time she did that, he felt all these experiences of forgiveness, of love, of understanding, of comprehension, of empathy and compassion. When he came back from that trip, he was completely changed. He was very open about talking about his feelings, [but] the reason I really know that it changed him is he started taking out the garbage and doing the dishes. I have a friend who’s a Navy SEAL who had severe PTSD and he went to Costa Rica and had the same kind of experience. I have a couple of other friends who are in the NFL and they also had severe brain injuries and depression, and the same thing happened. So, my mind is open to the idea that there may be things that I don’t know about and that people ought to have the freedom and liberty to experiment with these things.”

Amit Chaudhary was the only son of his parents and only brother of his three elder sisters. He was about to gt married in Jan 2024. On the evening of 14th Sep he called his uncle and told him that the wife of the colonel at whose house he is posted as a House Help under Buddy system of Army is going to murder him. After three days the family received a call from SM of the unit who informed them that they are sending the dead body of Amit to Jammu. The family received the Body on 19th Sep and even now no one from the Army bothered to inform them about the cause and reason of his death. Family is alleging that Wife of the Colonel was forcing Amit to do things with her which he was not comfortable with. And that leads to his murder. Its such a serious allegation and if this is true its a shame for the entire force.
