It's not so much about why Connoly chose to represent banks, but why banks through their solicitors chose her.

Sorry but that was her job at the time. Someone had to do it. How can a defence lawyer defend a know killer. It’s their job. The situation that the government put the country in resulted in all that not her.

Catherine Connolly was a barrister. It is her job to represent and for the court to conclude on issues based on facts presented & evidence. She is in no way culpable for court decisions. To attack her for her role in the justice system is to attack & undermine the justice system

This is without doubt a shocking post. It suggests one party in a process within the justice system shouldn't be represented based on subjectivity, bias or political belief. Yet the justice system represents all, as it should do. If it did not it would not be a justice system.

Personally don't have problem with anyone doing job. There were also those who seemed to outright refuse or get around paying eg Pamala Flood, Frank McNamara, Theresa Lowe, Trevor White etc That said, if eg café owner paying staff on the black lectures me on paying more tax....
